Chapter 114 Rescued Mid–Journey
Third–Person POV:
This time, since they’d actually managed to get her locked up, they weren’t about to let her walk free anytime soon.
Catherine would be coming back from the rehabilitation center any day now…
By then, even if Julian wanted to protect her, he’d have to think about how it would affect Catherine.
Lillian glanced back at Hilda, her smile widening just slightly.
Then she turned away and got into the police car without another word.
The car sped off, sirens blaring.
Hilda stood there, practically vibrating with rage. “God, she’s infuriating. Who does that Omega think she is?”

After everything the Graves Pack had given her over the years–what right did she have to act so superior? Even now, with the police taking her away, she still had the nerve to smile.
This time, they needed to lock her up for good. Make sure she never saw the light of day again.
Hilda fumed.
Not long after the police car left Laurel Manor, the lead officer, Zachary, got a phone call. Whatever the person on the other end said, his face changed fast.
He glanced back at Lillian.
Lillian raised an eyebrow, meeting his gaze. He flinched–actually flinched–and something like panic flickered in his eyes.
I’m sorry. We had no idea–had no idea who she really was… What should we do now? Take her to Starfall Mountain?”
“Yes, yes, I understand. We’ll apologize properly to Miss Moore. We’ll take her to Starfall Mountain right away.”
The moment he hung up, the car screeched to a halt.
Another vehicle was blocking the road ahead.
“What’s going on?” Zachary squinted forward.
The officer driving had already recognized the man stepping out of the car up ahead. “It’s Finn.”
Finn?
Lillian looked ahead too.
Finn walked up to the driver’s side and spoke to the officer behind the wheel. “I’m here to pick up Lillian.”
“Mr. Livingston? You came personally for Miss Moore?”

The officers exchanged nervous glances at the name.

Who exactly was this Miss Moore? Their highest superior had called their captain directly. Zachary had just gotten his ear chewed off on the phone.
They’d been told she was just some Omega from the orphanage. On the drive over, they’d all assumed this poor girl was finished now that the Graves Pack had it out for her.
But now…
First the mysterious phone call. Now Finn showing up in person.
The officers scrambled out of the car and opened the rear door.
Zachary’s voice was practically dripping with respect. “Miss Moore, please accept our deepest apologies.”
Lillian stepped out without a word and walked straight to Finn.
Finn looked her over carefully. When he saw she wasn’t hurt, some of the tension left his shoulders. “You okay?”
When he’d heard Hilda showed up at Laurel Manor with the police, he’d dropped everything and come straight here. He was vorried that with Lillian’s temper lately, things would escalate–and she’d be the one who got hurt.
illian shook her head. “I’m fine.”
Let’s go, then.”
She nodded and got into Finn’s car.
ust as Finn was about to follow her inside, Zachary hurried over.
Mr. Livingston–about what happened today…‘
le trailed off, but the anxiety in his voice said everything.
inn said, “Don’t worry. I’ll let him know.”
Thank you, Mr. Livingston.”
inn got in the car.
Only after the car disappeared from sight did a younger officer behind Zachary dare to ask, “Captain… what did that person on the hone say earlier?”
Veren’t they supposed to be arresting Julian’s Luna? Why was the captain practically groveling to whoever was on the line? And nentioning Starfall Mountain…
The owner of Starfall Mountain had always been a mystery. Could Julian’s Luna be connected to them somehow?
Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t,” Zachary snapped. “And don’t spread rumors.”
He got back in the car without another word.

Finn continued, “And it’s not just one person.”
At those words, my stomach dropped.
