Lillian scoffed, “What’s there to be scared of?”

“You’re right,” Chloe replied, calming down a little. “You’re not the same person you used to be. There’s really nothing to fear now.”

Remembering that Lillian had the backing of Langley Group behind her, Chloe felt reassured.

“So you really set Laurel Manor on fire too?”

Lillian’s tone was flat. “I made sure they have no route left.”

Chloe went quiet for a second. “Wow.”

It was hard to believe how Eleanor used to threaten Lillian back in the day. She’d tell her to get out of Gilneas City, warning that if she didn’t obey, she’d make sure Lillian couldn’t survive here.

That was before Lillian had even married Julian.
