Lillian’s POV:

But seeing my unwavering resolve, Chloe’s worry surged back. “Iris‘ mother absolutely will not let this go! Lily, perhaps… we should consider a more cautious strategy? A direct confrontation… I’m afraid you’ll be the one who gets hurt.”
“Don’t worry,” I said to Chloe, my tone steady. “She has a powerful mother, and I…”
I paused, closed my eyes, and when I opened them again, there was a newfound, solid confidence in my gaze. “I also have a family who can absolutely protect me.”
The word “family” had once been a hollow echo in my life, like the cold shadows on the orphanage walls. But now, speaking it aloud, I felt a faint, genuine warmth bloom in my chest.
Chloe looked even more bewildered. “What? Family? Your family?” Her voice was hushed, tinged with disbelief.
In her understanding, I had grown up parentless, with no one to rely on. That was precisely why, for all these years, she had watched over and shielded me like an older sister.
“Yes. Mine,” I confirmed with a firm nod. “I didn’t before. But now, I do.”
Chloe’s eyes widened. “What’s going on? Lily, is there… something else I don’t know?” Hearing me claim I had family, Chloe was first stunned, then her expression shifted to one of dawning shock and intense curiosity. “You have no idea how worried I was, seeing you so determined. That woman Margaret is truly not someone to provoke lightly. I was terrified your defiance would bring fatal consequences down on you. And now you’re saying you have family? Family who can protect you?”
Meeting Chloe’s shocked, probing gaze, I decided not to conceal it any longer. I gave her a brief account of the events of the past month.
Chloe’s POV:
After listening to Lillian’s story, I was completely dumbfounded, my mouth slightly agape, unable to form words for a long
moment.
The Western Continent. The Langley Pack.
That pack, which commanded vast territories across the Western Continent, controlled massive economic arteries critical to the werewolf world, and wielded terrifying influence. And Lillian… was actually the long–lost youngest daughter of the Langley bloodline?
My own voice sounded distant to my ears. “Lily, wait… you’re telling me… the true power behind the Langley Pack, Edmund Langley, is your… biological brother?”
This couldn’t be some wild fantasy, could it? That male, who perpetually sat at the absolute pinnacle of the global werewolf hierarchy, shrouded in legend?
“I only discovered it myself a month ago,” Lillian said calmly. “This matter… Please keep it confidential for now”
“I just… I don’t even know how to process this,” I stammered, utterly bewildered.
Over the years, I had heard every possible comment about Lillian. Orphanage background, no lineage, marrying Julian was a lucky fluke, she’d married above her station. Who could have imagined that this Omega, seen as insignificant by those so–called noble

werewolf families, was actually a lost princess of a top–tier werewolf dynasty from the Western Continent? And that Alpha, regarded by countless Omegas and Betas worldwide as almost mythical, was her flesh–and–blood brother.
“Lily, am I dreaming? Here, pinch me.” I held out my arm to her.
Lillian actually gave my forearm a firm, definitive pinch.
“Ow! That hurts! It really hurts!” I winced, but my eyes shone with brilliant excitement.
So, it wasn’t a dream.
“Then I can truly stop worrying now!” I instantly felt as if I’d been injected with pure adrenaline, pacing excitedly around the hospital room. “Your brother is Edmund Langley! Then what in the Moon’s name was I worried for? They’re the ones who should be terrified! He’s the walking nightmare for every single one of them!”
As for Iris‘ formidable mother Margaret and their Hayes Pack… compared to the Langley Pack, they likely wouldn’t even register as a mild annoyance!
Suddenly filled with fierce fighting spirit, I waved a fist in the air. “Go for it! Tear it all down! You have my full support now! Turn everything upside down! Rip the masks right off their faces!”
Before, I was afraid for Lillian, fearing Margaret’s retaliation. Now, that fear was utterly gone. The social sky of Gilneas City’s werewolf elite… who knew who was about to turn it inside out!
Julian’s POV:
I had originally intended to return and speak with Lillian tonight, once Iris‘ condition stabilized.
But Iris‘ mental state was profoundly volatile, with repeated signs of a complete breakdown, leaving me no choice but to remain at
her side.
It wasn’t until two in the morning, under the combined effect of sedatives and the steadying influence of my Alpha presence, that Iris finally settled into a deep, exhausted sleep.
I stood by the hospital room window, weariness and a simmering irritation washing over me in relentless waves.
A soft sob came from behind, Iris‘ eyes fluttered open, finding me. Her voice was weak, choked with tears and theatrical guilt. “Julian, I’m so sorry… I’ve troubled you again, I’m so sorr-”
“Ethan is dead.” My voice, icy and final, cut off her apology. I turned to face her, my eyes holding no warmth, only a bone–chilling cold. “Six months ago. The plane crash. No remains were recovered.”
Eleanor, who had been dozing fitfully in a chair nearby, jerked violently awake. Her eyes flew wide
Hearing my words, Eleanor shot up from her seat, her voice sharp with panic. “Julian! What are you doing?! Why would you tell her this now?!”
As soon as she spoke, she whirled to look at Iris with frantic eyes. On the bed, Iris‘ face visibly drained of all color, her lips parting soundlessly.
