Chapter 476 Zera’s Scandal Unmasked
“Anyone the Hills choose must have a special background.”
While the guests whispered, Zera lifted her gown and walked toward the Hills family.
Some people recognized her right away.
“Isn’t that Anna’s niece?”
“That’s her. I bought a package at Anna’s beauty salon and didn’t even get to finish it bef she shut down. So that’s where she went.”
“I heard her aunt was Jolene’s best friend, then stole Jolene’s husband, got pregnant, and i off.”
“If Anna stole her best friend’s husband, this niece can’t be any better.”
“I heard this one got arrested twice because Mr. Winter called the police on her, and Anna slept with Mr. Cunningham so he would bail her out.”
The group of wealthy women got louder and louder. Zera’s hands twisted together in embarrassment.
Good thing she had explained everything to Natasha, Thomas, and Lilian in advance.
Otherwise, these women really would have ruined everything.
Natasha said, “We’re continuing the party. Everyone be quiet.”
Thomas and Lilian exchanged looks. Thomas leaned toward Natasha and whispered, “Mom, rumors don’t start for no reason. Maybe we should treat tonight as a welcome dinner and delay the adoption until I run a full background check.”
Natasha’s temper flared. “What, nobody listens to me anymore?”
Thomas sighed and signaled for the party to continue.
Raine could no longer stay calm. “Why is it her?”
Brad leaned over and reminded her, “It’s the Hills‘ banquet. We watch quietly. anything.”
Raine puffed her cheeks and muttered an unhappy, “Fine.”
Aella studied the woman’s face again, then looked at Tyrone.

She had guessed right. It was Zera.
Tyrone stood next to Aella without a change in expression. His lips pressed together, his eyes slid over Zera and narrowing slightly. A cold, dangerous air settled over him.
With everyone watching, Zera served tea to Natasha, Thomas, and Lilian. She addressed each of them as family and accepted their gifts.
While smiling sweetly, she memorized the faces of every woman who had mocked her earlier.
After tonight, she would be the adopted daughter of the Hills. A real society heiress.
Every powerful family in Vleka would have to show her respect.
And when that time came, every one of those women who had insulted her–old and you -would be taught a lesson.
Zera walked toward Michael and Sophia. “Michael, Sophia.”
Raine could not take another second of Zera pretending to be shy and sweet.
She shoved Brad aside and stepped into the center of the crowd. Aella and Brad rushed to follow her.
Raine said to the Hills family, “Do you even know who she really is? How can you bring her into your home?”
Zera saw Raine coming for her and ducked her head, crying softly.
“Ms. Winter, I never offended you. Why do you always go after me?”
Raine had reached her limit.
Pointing right at Zera’s forehead, she said, “Keep crying. You think acting innocent will make people forget the disgusting things you and your aunt have done?”
Calling Zera out in public offended Natasha.
Natasha’s face darkened. “Ms. Winter, watch your words.”
Brad pulled Raine back. “Mrs. Natasha, please don’t be upset.”
Brad spoke clearly so everyone could hear. “Zera’s aunt is Mrs. Cunningham’s closest friend. Yet Anna stole her friend’s husband and became Mr. Cunningham’s mistress. People say friends reflect each other. Raine was only reminding you kindly.”

Brad didn’t raise his voice, but everyone in the room heard him clearly.
Zera shot Brad a hateful glare. He was doing it on purpose.
Hearing gossip from random women was one thing. Hearing it from Brad, the second son of the Keller family, was something else entirely.
The guests‘ expressions changed as they looked at Zera.
Unable to defend herself, Zera began crying again.
She grabbed Natasha’s hand. “Grandma, I explained everything to you. No one will bel
me if I speak for myself. Since everyone misunderstands me and my aunt, I shouldn’t and bring trouble to the Hills. I’ll pack up and leave.”
Natasha held her hand tightly and said with a firm look, “No matter what others say, I only believe you.”
Zera’s tears turned into a smile.
Aella glanced at Tyrone quietly.
She hadn’t expected Natasha to defend Zera this strongly.
Just then, Vivienne stepped out from the crowd.
She shot Zera a look of disgust, then handed a folder to Lilian in front of everyone.
Vivienne told her, “Mrs. Lilian, read this privately.”
Vivienne was forceful in her approach, but unlike Raine, she wasn’t impulsive. She simply handed Lilian a file.
