Chapter 492 Daniel’s Statement
Tyrone looked down, trying to hide the emotion in his eyes.
It seemed Aella hadn’t told Daniel about her issues with Zera.

Tyrone avoided the topic. “That’s Aella’s person business. I shouldn’t speak for her.
Daniel had already guessed most of it.
He had only come to make sure. “Mr. Winter, I how it’s bold of me to ask, but Zera is now my sister on paper. Whether she and Aella get along is very important to me.”
Tyrone went silent for a bit, still looking down.
Then, in a steady voice, he said, “Like you said, era and I used to date. Aella and I grew up together and almost married. Do you think people in a situation like that can really be friends?”
Daniel’s eyebrows tightened.
So they weren’t friends, but on opposite sides.
It was just what he had suspected.
Did Aella still have feelings for Tyrone, and that’s why she disliked Zera?
But Aella had clearly told him that she and Tyrone were only childhood friends, and she had always seen him like a brother.
Daniel’s mind went into chaos.
He stood up slowly. “Thank you for explaining, Mr. Winter. I won’t bother you anymore.”
It seemed the problem came from Zera.
Tyrone stayed seated on the couch, not moving. Mr. Hill, if one day Zera and Aella clash, whose side would you take?”
Daniel paused and turned around.
His voice was firm as he answered, “Aella is the one I want. I love her. No matter what happens, I’ll stand with her.”
Tyrone nodded, lowered his eyes again, and stayed quiet.

Daniel asked back, “And what right do you have to question me about that, Mr. Winter?”
Tyrone slowly stood up.
He stepped closer and looked straight at Daniel,
“I love her too,” Tyrone said.
Even though probably no one would believe his words, he still had to say it.
Daniel replied, “From what I’ve learned, after the wedding was canceled, you and Aella are nothing more than childhood friends.”
He stressed the words “childhood friends.”
Tyrone didn’t react. “How I feel about her doesn’t change just because our titles changed.”
He was ready to spend his whole life proving it, waiting for her, protecting her.
Until she believed him.
The two men stared at each other, tension quietly building between them.
Daniel said, “I’m ready to compete with you fairly, Mr. Winter.”
Tyrone was outstanding.
Competing with someone like him was stressful for sure.
But Daniel would never back down.
Tyrone’s lips tightened into a bitter smile.
In Aella’s heart, he’d already blown his chance.
He had lost the right to a fair fight.
Daniel walked out of Tyrone’s office with mixed feelings.
So Tyrone hadn’t moved on from Aella at all.
They weren’t friends–they were rivals.
Late in the afternoon, close to clock–out time, Daniel waited for Aella at the building
entrance on purpose.
He had already come to talk to her twice that day, and neither time was about work. It was

starting to annoy her
Not wanting her coworkers to notice, Aella had no choice but to get into Daniel’s car. “Daniel,
I already told you at lunch. I don’t want people gossiping about us
Daniel wasn’t clueless.
He could tell she was running out of patience.
But he didn’t like leaving things messy. Some things had to be said clearly.
He said, “I just need a few minutes. I won’t keep you long”
Aella softened a little at his patience.
Daniel continued, “Aella, if you’re avoiding me because of Zera, you don’t need to. My parents and I don’t accept her. We’re talking about how to have her leave the Hills.
Aella looked at him with confusion in her eyes. “How do you even know I don’t like Zera?”
Daniel answered honestly, “I talked to Tyrone.”
Aella lowered her head so he couldn’t read her face.
There was no way Tyrone would tell Daniel that she and he had been rel
Even if he told Daniel she had a past with Zera, he wouldn’t go into detail.
Aella had expected Daniel to dig into why she disliked Zera. But to her surprise, he didn’t ask anything more.
She pulled him back to the facts. “Daniel, she’s still your family’s adopted daughter. That connection will never go away.”
Daniel’s voice turned firm. “Aella, it’s because you don’t really know me yet. You don’t trust me enough. I’ll show you. You will always be the most important person to me.”
Aella looked at him and felt like she was staring at her past self.
Daniel kept trying, again and again. It touched her, but it also made her tired.
Everyone has a wall they have to hit on their own.
People who haven’t been through it won’t listen to someone who has.
Daniel was a great guy. He just chose the worst moment to tell her his feelings.

Across the street, Tyrone sat in his luxury car, watching through the window as Aella got into the passenger seat of Daniel’s car.
He held his phone in his hand. He didn’t say a word. He didn’t make a single move. He just sat there quietly, watching.
