Chapter 529 Forty Years Later
Tyrone said he would spend his whole life proving that his love for her was real.
Aella lowered her head. Tears fell onto the
ground.

She wiped her eyes, grabbed her bag, and ran after him. She stopped beside his car and blocked his way.
Tyrone opened the car door, then slowly closed it again.
Aella stood in front of him, looked straight into his eyes, and said, “I believe you.
“I believe every word you ever said to me,” she continued. “Including when loved me.”

Tyrone’s eyes instantly turned red.
He lost control for a moment and grabbed her shoulders, wanting to pull her into his arms. But then, from the corner of his eye, he noticed the cartoon hair clip in her hair–the one Poppy wore. His movement froze. The hands gripping her shoulders slowly fell away.
Aella reached out and held his hands instead. “The past stays in the past,” she said softly. “I’ve let it go. I hope you can let it go too. Don’t let the past trap you.”
Tyrone looked down at her face. His lips twitched as if he wanted to smile, but it was hard.
He nodded. “I’ll try.”
But someone who had been tied together for two lifetimes could never truly let go so easily. Tyrone tried year after year, but he still could not walk out of his
past with Aella.
Just like he promised, he stayed far away and watched her live a happy life.
He could not leave, and he could not come closer.
So, the years passed.
Aella’s daughter got married. Her son became an adult.
Tyrone stood at the very top of the global business world, becoming one of the most powerful figures on the world’s rich lists.
Even then, he remained alone, still holding onto that promise he once made to Aella.

Time left its marks on everyone’s faces. The love of youth was slowly buried under the years.
Even when his beard turned white, Tyrone was still alone.
Whether it was the sharp gaze of his youth, the cold and deadly look he had after entering society, the deep and complex eyes shaped by life, or the dull, tired eyes lined with wrinkles, his gaze never once left Aella.
Even if all he could see was her back from far away.
He spent his entire life watching over her happiness.
Tyrone saw her loved deeply by her husband, blessed with both a son and a daughter, respected by her in–laws, and successful in her career.
Only then did he truly learn how to love her.
Forty years later, this year winter was especially cold.
Early winter snow fell again and again, with no sign of stopping.
Aella was inside, warm and comfortable, reading a picture book with her little granddaughter.
Suddenly, her son and daughter knocked and rushed in. “Mom,” they said urgently, “Tyrone is critically ill!”
The picture book slipped from Aella’s hands and hit the floor.
It was late at night.
Outside, the world was frozen in snow and ice.
Inside the hospital, both the room and the hallway were filled with quiet sobbing.
Raine and Brad were there with their children. Several close relatives stood by the bed, seeing Tyrone off on his final journey.
Outside the room, grieving relatives whispered among themselves.
“His family is incredibly powerful. Tyrone never married and had no children. He leaves behind a fortune worth billions, but no direct heir. What a pity.”

Supported by her son and daughter, Aella arrived at the hospital,
Hearing the whispers in the hallway, she walked unsteadily into Tyrone’s room.
Before his condition worsened, Tyrone had made a will, dividing all his assets into three parts.
One of those parts was meant for her.
But it was not transferred directly to her name.
That portion was split again into three shares, given to her son, daughter, and Clyde–one
share cach.
She knew why Tyrone did this. He wanted to protect her reputation. He didn’t want people to
talk.
When Tyrone’s closest family saw Aella arrive, they quietly stepped aside.
Her son and daughter cried as they sat by the bed, calling out, “Tyrone.”
Poppy collapsed onto Tyrone’s shoulder, crying in heartbreak.
From childhood to adulthood, this man who was not related to her by blood had given her a love that belonged only to her.
The Hills had been a family of doctors for generations. Her grandparents and parents had always wanted her to study medicine.
But her dream was to be a violinist.
To make that dream come true, Tyrone humbled himself.
