“Tyrone, we’ve been seeing each other for two months. But you only give me one hour every Friday to have dinner together. You won’t see me any other time. You won’t let it be public. We don’t even chat on WhatsApp. This doesn’t feel like dating”
From the moment she learned who Tyrone really was, she had planned every step to get close to him.
Becoming his lifesaver had not been easy. She hid her intentions and chased him for a full year. At last, he agreed to try dating her for one year, just to see if they were compatible.
No matter what, she had to hold on to this chance.
Tyrone looked at Zera’s wronged expression. For a split second, he saw another face in his mind–Aella, eyes full of tears and quiet fear.
Brad’s warning echoed in his ears.
Tyrone lowered his gaze and said calmly, “We haven’t spent much time together; I already have my answer. We’re not right for each other. This ends here.”
Zera froze as if struck by lightning.
She had only come to bring him a homemade meal. Instead, he ended the relationship on the spot.
She stared at him in disbelief. “Tyrone, I risked my life to save you back then. You promised to give me a chance and try dating for a year. Are you going back on your word?”
Tyrone took out a bank card and held it out to her. “It’s the same amount as before. You were injured trying to save me. This is your compensation.”
Zera stumbled back several steps.
She shook her head hard. “When I saved you, I didn’t know you were some rich heir. I truly liked you. I never wanted anything from you. How can you go back on your words?”
Tyrone looked at her, all patience gone.
He put the card away and said coldly, “From this moment on, we have nothing to do with each other. If you change your mind, come get the money. Other than that, there’s nothing I can give you.”
With that, he stepped into the RV.
Zera leaned weakly against a tree behind her, her mind completely blank.
She had schemed so carefully to get close to Tyrone.
After so much effort, he finally agreed to date her for a year.
Before it began, Tyrone had set clear rules. No public relationship, no holding hands, no kissing, no sleeping together.
She thought she just needed to wait for the right timing.

To avoid annoying him, she watched her every move and carefully kept up her image.
She never expected that after two months, he would end things so firmly.
Tyrone was cold and difficult; that much was true.
But she was his lifesaver. She had been hurt saving him.
Just last Friday, they had dinner together. He hadn’t shown any displeasure.
Why did he suddenly change his mind?
Did he find out she had hidden motives when she saved him?
Zera clenched the lunchbox in her hands.
No matter the reason, she could not let a man like Tyrone slip away.
Inside the RV, Brad watched Zera stagger off in a mess and pulled the curtain shut.
He stared at Tyrone for a long moment before speaking.

“You cut it off so cleanly. Are you worried that Aella might keep getting close to you and one day people will misunderstand and accuse her of being the other woman?”
Tyrone ate in silence.
Brad leaned in, curious. “Hey, tell me the truth. Do you like Aella?”
Tyrone tightened his grip on his knife and fork.
He had grown up with Aella.
Tyrone had always known how she felt about him.
But he had never truly thought about his feelings.
He shot Brad a warning look. “She has exams coming up. Don’t say nonsense in front of her and distract her.”
Brad grinned slyly. “You didn’t deny it. That says enough.”
They had been friends for years. Brad knew Tyrone too well.
Zera had chased Tyrone for a year after getting hurt saving him. He had agreed to give it a try for one year.
Two months later, he ended it completely.
Something must have happened on Aella’s birthday.
Brad was suddenly eager to go talk to Aella.
That evening, Aella waited at the school gate for her driver.

When she saw Tyrone step out of his car from afar, she walked the other way.
He already attracted enough attention, and now he had dressed up so dashingly.
Aella felt like grabbing a shovel and burying him.
Tyrone stopped her. “Warren has a business dinner tonight. He asked me to pick you up on the way home.”
Aella took out her phone to call home, but Tyrone stopped her.
She snorted and turned to leave.

Tyrone grabbed the strap of her backpack, bent down, leaned close, and looked straight into her eyes. “Why do you get angry so easily?”
His low voice carried a hint of indulgence.
Aella turned her face away. “That’s none of your business!”
He didn’t dodge in time. Her ponytail whipped across his face.
