He almost made a big mistake last night.

This morning, when he woke up and saw Aella sleeping in his arms, he felt a quiet, peaceful kind of happiness.

Tyrone carefully got out of bed and went to wash up.

Aella sat down and cleared her throat. “Tyrone, I just called my parents. I told them I slept with you last night.”

Tyrone sprayed the milk all over the floor.

Seeing him panic, Aella burst out laughing. “I’m kidding.”

Tyrone steadied himself and turned serious.

“What happened last night was my fault. I lost control of myself. You should focus on your exams for now. I will take responsibility.”

He added, “If anything needs to be said, it should come from me. It’s not right for you to say it.”

Aella bit her spoon and asked, “So how will you take responsibility? Will you be my boyfriend?”

Tyrone looked at her smiling eyes and answered without thinking, “Let’s talk after your exams.”

She could joke around.

He could not.

Tyrone was an adult stepping into the real world. He could not brush the situation off. He had to give her a clear answer.

Aella laughed happily.

Aella refused to get out of the car. She insisted he kiss her first.

Aella smacked her lips and got out of the car cheerfully.

That morning, Tyrone ran into Brad at school.

Aella laughed. “Last night, Tyrone and I kissed and slept…”
