Chapter 546 When the Truth Hits
Hearing her mother’s worried sobs from the study, Aella knocked and stepped inside.
Miriam wiped away her tears as soon as she saw her. “You’re home from school. Go upstairs and get some rest.”
Aella spoke firmly to her parents, “Tyrone promised me he would try his best to help us through this. He’ll find a way.”
Warren gently comforted his daughter, “Don’t listen to rumors outside. Focus on your studies.”
Miriam coaxed Aella to go upstairs. “Your dad and I are just preparing for the worst. Study hard and don’t worry about adult problems.”
Aella obediently went upstairs.
Five days later.
After school, Aella came home again.
This time, she overheard her parents talking. The company was clearing its debts and preparing to declare bankruptcy.
Miriam selected a set of deep green emerald jewelry from all her pieces. It was a seven–piece heirloom set.
She said to Warren, “I don’t care how much debt we owe. This jewelry must be left to Aella and Clyde as a safety net.”
Hearing this, Aella panicked completely.
Just days ago, her parents had said they were only planning for the worst.
So why was the company already clearing debts?
Fear rushed through her chest.
She called Tyrone. The line was busy.
Aella checked the time and ran to Bluehaven to find him.
It was a little past eight in the evening.
At the south gate of the Bluehaven, Tyrone had just hung up his phone when Zera walked up to him.
Tyrone looked at her coldly as she stepped out of a taxi. “Are you following me?”
Zera shook her head nervously. “No. I called out to you at the school gate, but you didn’t hear me. So I took a taxi and followed you.”
Tyrone said flatly, “You’ve thought it through? You’re here for money?”
Zera shook her head again. “No, Mr. Winter. My mom is very sick and was rushed to the hospital. You weren’t home, and I didn’t know what else to do, so I came to you.”
Tyrone was clearly impatient. “Zera, even if you wanted money right now, I can’t give you ten million dollars.”

Zera fell silent.
Tyrone took out a pen and paper from the car and handed them to her. “Write down a bank account. I’ll send the payment to you
next month.”
After saying that, Tyrone blocked her phone number and WhatsApp right in front of her.
Zera froze at the series of his actions.
She had struggled for days before deciding to come ask Tyrone for money.
Now, he was telling her he had no money.
Blocking all her contact information, asking for a bank account, and saying he’d pay next month.
Such a classic excuse for a jerk.
If she believed him and walked away now, she wouldn’t get a single dollar, and she’d never be able to find him again.
He was the heir to Winter Group. There was no way he couldn’t come up with ten million dollars.
If she couldn’t get his money now, she wouldn’t let him off so easily.
Zera lost control and said, “I was seriously injured saving you. I never used that to ask for anything. I didn’t come here for money.”
She continued, “My mom is very sick. I’m scared and didn’t know what to do. That’s why I came to you.”
Then she said softly, “Tyrone, I liked you for so long. We were together. Can we sit down and talk properly?”
Not far away, Aella stood there with red eyes, staring at Zera in front of Tyrone. The coffee cup in her hand was already crushed out of shape.
So, he wasn’t joking with her.
He really did have a girlfriend.
Zera cautiously stepped closer and gathered her courage to reach for Tyrone’s hand. His sharp warning glance stopped her cold.
Tyrone took out his phone and glanced at Reginald’s incoming call.
He got into the car and drove away.
Before Aella could run up and demand answers, she saw Tyrone leave in a hurry.
She stopped in place and angrily slammed the cup to the ground.
Zera watched Tyrone’s car disappear and stomped her feet in frustration.
If she had known Tyrone was this unreliable, she should have taken the bank card when he offered it back then.
Now she had lost both the man and the money.
Regret burned in her chest.

As she walked back along the sidewalk, the more she thought about it, the more something felt wrong.
These wealthy heirs valued their reputations more than anything. She was Tyrone’s lifesaver.

Even though they were only together for two months and had few meals together, nothing physical happened, but they still dated before.
If Tyrone refused to compensate her with money, then fine. She wouldn’t ask for money anymore.
She would make him owe her forever.
Zera was determined to make Tyrone willingly compensate her, and for far more than before.
Lost in her thoughts, Zera wasn’t paying attention and bumped into Aella, who was standing there in a daze.
Zera was already in a bad mood.
She looked at the girl in front of her–only 17 or 18 years old, dressed head to toe in luxury, with an air of superiority. Even though Zera couldn’t afford designer brands, she followed the world’s top luxury labels every single day.
