Chapter 568 You Still Have Me

Without realizing it, his arms tightened, pulling her closer.

They had agreed to keep their distance and to wait until she graduated.

But in this moment, all he wanted was to hold her.

Tyrone spoke in a low, muffled voice. “Aella … thank you.”

“And thank your parents, too,” he added silently.

Aella wrapped her arms around Tyrone’s waist and rested obediently against his chest.

She liked the way it felt when he held her.

Whether she was the one reaching out, or he was.

In the vast living room, there was nothing but the sound of their heartbeats and breathing.

Just then, Aella’s phone rang.

Reluctantly, Tyrone loosened his hold on her.

They looked at each other.

Tyrone reminded her to answer the call.

Seeing that it was her parents, Aella quickly picked up the call.

She’d been so focused on comforting Tyrone that she’d nearly forgotten to call them back.

The video call connected.

When Tyrone saw Aella’s parents on screen, he greeted them first. “Warren, Miriam, Merry Christmas.”

On the call, Miriam said gently, “It’s the holidays Make sure you eat properly. Your parents‘ matters–they’ll sort them out themselves.”

Warren added, “Come over tomorrow morning for breakfast. Miriam made cookies for you.” Even through the screen, Tyrone could feel their concern for him.

He thanked them and agreed to come by the next morning to pay his respects.

As soon as Tyrone finished speaking, Aella squeezed her head into the frame. “Mom, Dad, I’m spending Christmas with Tyrone tonight. I’m not coming home.”

The moment her words landed, both sides of the call went silent.

On the screen, Warren and Miriam exchanged a look, then turned their eyes to Aella.

Tyrone explained calmly, “Warren, Miriam, don’t worry. I know my limits.”

Hearing his reassurance, Warren and Miriam finally relaxed.

They’d watched Tyrone grow up right under their noses, always glued to their daughter–it was something they were long used to.

And after Tyrone had nearly lost his life protecting the Reids, their trust in his character ran deep.

Miriam reminded Aella of a few things before ending the call.

Once the call ended, Aella complained softly, “Last time, we almost crossed the line. What ‘limits‘ do you even have?”

Tyrone turned away, hiding his emotions.

But his mind betrayed him, replaying that night.

Aella was in his white shirt, lying on his bed, pinned beneath him as he kissed her desperately–his blood began to surge.

He picked up a small piece of pastry from the plate and gently stuffed it into Aella’s mouth. “I’ll get you something to drink.”

Tyrone had never eaten food someone else had touched.

Even sharing utensils with Aella had been an exception.

He paused briefly with the pastry between his teeth, then silently ate it.

“Cold?” Tyrone asked.

Aella scooted closer to him.

He turned and draped a thin blanket over her shoulders.

Aella said lazily, “Tyrone … if I marry you someday, we’re not allowed to fight. And we’re not allowed to divorce.”

Tyrone stared at her, momentarily speechless.

If he could form a family with Aella, he would be faithful from beginning to end—no fights, no betrayal, no divorce.

Without thinking, he wrapped an arm around her.

In a very low voice, he said, “Okay
