Chapter 570 Winters‘ Assets

Raine pointed upstairs. “I’ll go upstairs to see if Brad is around and come back down later.”

Tyrone followed Virginia into the kitchen.

Virginia asked Tyrone, “Do you want me to send a few servants over to help?”

Tyrone shook his head.

This was his private residence, and he didn’t like outsiders around.

Virginia stood by the oven, watching the cookies brown.

Leaning against the prep counter, Tyrone asked, “Mom, how is Uncle Victor’s investigation going?”

Virginia put down the ladle and turned to look at her son.

Her expression grew serious. “That Zera targeting you and scheming to seize the Winters‘ assets is despicable, but her biological mother isn’t Shirley–it’s actually her aunt, Anna Cunningham.”

Tyrone frowned instinctively.

He hadn’t expected Zera to have another hidden identity.

Virginia continued, “Zera’s biological mother, Anna, was George’s mistress. When she was young, she was bought for a night by the Hills‘ second son. Later, that second son died in a car accident. Anna got pregnant and had no one to turn to, so she gave birth and passed the child to her brother and sister–in–law to raise. This only came to light after Zera got into trouble–Anna revealed the truth to save her.”

Tyrone spotted a flaw. “The Hills in the West District are a top–tier family in Vleka. Why didn’t Anna take Zera directly to the Hills to acknowledge her lineage, instead of becoming George’s inistress?”

Virginia showed a look of disdain. “When the Hills‘ second son paid for Anna back then, she had no idea who he really was. After Zera got into trouble, Anna begged George to save her daughter. Only after repeated questioning did she tell the truth. That’s when George had people investigate and confirmed Zera’s biological father was the Hills‘ long–deceased second son.

Seeing her son deep in thought, Virginia reminded him.

“Tyrone, Zera has already been sentenced and expelled from school. Her reputation is ruined, her record stained. Even if the Hills wanted to rehabilitate her image, it would be extremely difficult.”

Virginia went on, “Right now, Zera is the only bloodline left from the Hill family’s other branch. Mrs. Natasha dotes on her. You’ve already taught her a lesson. Let’s drop it. From here on out, it’s her own fate.”

A mother always knows her son best.

Virginia understood Tyrone’s methods all too well.

So, she patiently persuaded him for quite some time.

Only when Tyrone finally nodded did she stop.

Tyrone changed the subject. “Mom, if Dad insists on not divorcing, will you compromise?”

Virginia answered calmly. “This marriage must end. If he truly repents and wants to save this family, then he must hand over everything the Winters own.”

Men of the Winter family were born businessmen–calculating, profit–driven.

For Ralph to willingly give up all his assets would be a tremendous test.

Virginia said, “If he can do that, then for you and your sister, I can return to the Winter family and give him one last chance.”

“Heh-

“Um, I-

Aella stood there awkwardly, stammering.

Tyrone slipped an arm around her shoulders and guided her toward the dining room, easing her embarrassment.

Virginia quickly called her daughter over to eat.

At the table, Aella stood and offered holiday wishes to Virginia.

Virginia handed Aella a large gift.

After giving one to Aella, she handed another to her son.

Tyrone refused it. “Mom, I don’t need it.”

Virginia shot him a look. Clearing his throat, Tyrone passed his gift to Aella.

Aella said, “Isn’t it awkward for me to take all of them?” But her hands moved faster than her mouth, already holding the gift.

Raine, jealous, piped up, “Mom, I want one, too,

Virginia lowered her voice to warn them. “I’m helping your brother win a wife. Don’t you dare cause trouble.”
