Tyrone shook his head. “No. From now on, your money–and you–are under my care.”
They stared at each other.
Aella scrunched up her nose, clearly mad.
Tyrone realized he’d pushed it too far, bent down, and tried to calm her. “Fine. You’re in charge of both my money and me.”
Then he added, “If you take my money, you have to stay with me for life. No looking at other guys!”
He was four years older than Aella.
Aella was bright, lively, and outgoing.
He was rigid, serious, and preferred quiet.
Her family was warm and loving, while his was full of stress, mind games, and people who only cared about money.
They were about to get engaged.
But Aella was still young, and her character was still taking shape.
She had four years of college ahead of her. She’d meet people who shared her interests, and more who were talented and fun.
Tyrone was 100% sure about her. He was ready to give her the best of everything.
But he couldn’t be sure that four years later, Aella would still choose him.
If he could, he wanted to legally marry Aella overseas–not just get engaged.
Aella looked at Tyrone with stars in her eyes. “Don’t worry, Tyrone. There’s only you in my eyes and my heart.”
Tyrone frowned. “What about that skateboarder back in Mudrus? You said he was hot, took a picture with him, and even gave him your number.”
Aella remembered. “Oh, that guy? He’s the youngest son of the Lockes. He called me pretty, so I was just being polite.”

Aella cuddled into his arms and acted cute. “That guy was a weirdo. He wouldn’t let me leave until I gave it to him!”
She couldn’t help but add, “But he is really good–looking-”
Tyrone pinched her lips to stop her.
Aella quickly fixed it. “I mean, he’s not as good–looking as you, Tyrone.”
After saying that, she gave him a flirty look.
Tyrone stared at her lips and pulled her into a tight hug. “I already talked to my parents. Tomorrow they’ll go to the Reid Residence to talk to your parents about the engagement.”
He paused, then asked, “Can we move in together after the engagement?”
Aella wrapped her arms around his neck. “Whatever you want, Tyrone.”
Tyrone looked down at the well–behaved girl in his arms. His eyes were fixed on her lips.
He wanted nothing more than to take her back to Bluehaven right now, pin her to the bed, and kiss her until she was breathless and begging for mercy.
Even though he was losing his mind wanting her, he held himself back and sent Aella home to the Reid Residence.
She was still young.
If he slept with her now, her parents might act like it was fine, but they’d definitely be mad at him behind the scenes.
He and Aella were about to get engaged, so he couldn’t upset her parents anymore.
At exactly eight the next morning, Tyrone arrived at the Reid Residence with his Aella’s parents had snacks and coffee ready and gave the Winters a warm welcome.
parents.
In the large living room, Tyrone’s parents sat facing Aella’s parents. Aella sat next to Tyrone on the other side.
Aella had always been this close to Tyrone since she was little. Now that they were about to get engaged, both families were happy to see it.
Virginia handed a gift list to Miriam. “This is the engagement gift list. Take a look and let us know if we need to add anything else.”
