Tyrone gently wiped Aella’s tears before opening the car door for her. “Let’s go somewhere else and talk it out.”
Last time, he’d told her he dreamed about hurting her, but she hadn’t taken it seriously.
Since that was the case, he’d tell her everything.
He’d been forcing himself to stay away from her lately, and it had been torture.
Aella nodded. “Take me to Bluehaven. I want to see if you let Zera move in!”
Tyrone didn’t explain. He just drove toward Bluehaven.
It was a little past 7:00 p.m. when they got there.
As soon as Aella walked in, she began checking everywhere. From the doorway to the living room, from the bathroom to the bedroom–she searched every spot, not missing a thing.
Tyrone stayed quiet behind her.
When she moved, he followed. When she stopped, he stopped.
After finding nothing, Aella dropped onto the couch, exhausted.
Tyrone poured her a glass of water and sat next to her.
The room fell into a heavy silence.
He carefully reached out and fixed a loose strand of hair near her forehead.
Still upset, Aella turned her face away.
With a helpless sigh, Tyrone gently turned her back toward him.
Looking straight at her, he said, “Aella, do you remember what I told you before? About the dream where I hurt you?”
Aella nodded, clearly still mad.
“That wasn’t a dream,” Tyrone said. “I was reborn.”
She shot upright like she’d seen something scary. “What now? Are you saying you’re not human? That you’re a ghost?!”
He didn’t know what to say.
Her emotions spiraled. “Are you going to say humans and ghosts can’t be together, and that pushing me away is for my own good?”
Tyrone reached for her hand.
Suddenly, Aella shoved him hard, knocking him back onto the couch.
Standing over him, she pointed at him angrily. “Just admit it! You regret being with me!

“You’re still in love with your ex, Zera!
“She caused a scene at your engagement party, then got hit by a car, and you felt bad for her! You want to get back with her, so you’re treating me cold on purpose and trying to make me call off the engagement!”
Tyrone grabbed her waist, hooked her leg with his, and pulled her straight into his arms.
Staring into her eyes, he said, “Can you let me finish first?”
He knew how unbelievable he sounded.
But right now, Aella was sure he regretted their engagement and that Zera was the reason he’d pulled away.
If he didn’t explain, she would completely fall apart.
Aella struggled, but Tyrone pressed her onto his lap and held her tightly.
Her eyes reddened as she snapped, “Tyrone, if you don’t let go right now, don’t blame me if I bite you!”
His arms tightened around her.
His voice stayed soft but firm. “Aella, calm down. Please hear me out.”
Sniffling, Aella felt hurt and angry, and she bit down hard on his arm.
Tyrone sucked in a breath from the pain, but he didn’t release her.
He explained, “I know this sounds crazy and unbelievable, but it’s the truth. I have no reason to lie to you.”
Aella slowly loosened her bite, then started crying again from anger.
Tyrone lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him.
His face turned serious. “Our story didn’t start in this lifetime. There was a life before this, and one before that.”
Aella puffed out her cheeks and stayed silent.
“I did hurt you because of Zera,” Tyrone continued. “We lost our child because of it, and then we divorced.”
As he spoke, he wiped away her tears.
Aella just stared at him without moving.
Tyrone went on, “Until the day I died, you never forgave me. After I was reborn, I spent my whole life waiting for you. But you chose someone else and never looked back.”
His eyes reddened as he spoke.
