Chapter 129
Rosalie gritted her teeth. She might be in trouble, but she couldn’t let the man she cared about get dragged down with her, She had no choice but to confess.
“Ms. Hale, when our hospital’s ambulance brought you in that night, you were already in labor. The baby was perfectly healthy. But you were so worn out that you fell asleep right after giving birth.
“That was when Beatrice came to me and handed me and the nurse a wad of cash. All she wanted was for us to tell you your baby didn’t make it.
“It was such an easy job for so much money, so I couldn’t resist. After I took the cash helped Beatrice get a bed at Seavale Hospital, and Eliana was registered as the baby’s mother.
“That’s the whole story.”
“No!” Dylan roared, his voice shaking with disbelief. He stared at his mother, eyes wide with confusion and pain. “Mom, how could you do this to Stella? She’s done so much for the Ashford family. She took care of me for three years. Didn’t you feel even a little grateful? And now you went so far as to plot against her baby, just so Eliana could raise it?”
Beatrice’s face went ashen. It was over.
It was all over. Everything she’d schemed for was gone.
She struggled to sit up, her eyes blazing with fury as she shouted at Stella. “It’s all because of you. I can’t stand you! If you hadn’t come into our lives, none of this would have happened. Who do you think you are, raising a child of the Ashford family? Eliana is the only one who deserves to be with Dylan…”
“I know they’re a good match. When Dylan asked for a divorce, I signed the papers without a second thought. What more do you want from me?” Serena interrupted, her tone flat and drained, lacking the strength to get angry anymore.
Beatrice was rendered speechless.
Serena crouched down, her heart aching as she looked at her son’s swollen hands. She gently lifted the back of his shirt, and her breath caught as she saw that his back was covered in bruises, black and blue.
Dylan saw it too. He whipped his head around to Eliana, his voice shaking with rage. “You… you’re nothing but a venomous
woman.”
Eliana was sobbing uncontrollably, realizing that her dreams of living the high life were shattered and she’d never be a trophy wife again.
Once again, she’d been outplayed by Dylan.
Serena had finally snapped. She was determined to teach Eliana a lesson herself that she would never forget.
She gently picked up Liam and passed him to Chris. “Be careful with him,” she warned softly.
Chris accepted Liam with care, cradling him protectively in his arms.
Serena gave her son a gentle look. “Sweetie, just hang in there a little longer. Mom’s going to take
you
home soon.”
Liam nodded, eyes brimming with tears. “Mom, I’ve been trying so hard to be close to you. Does all this evidence mean you can get custody?”
He didn’t want to stay here another minute.
Serena felt her heart ache like it was being sliced open as she looked into his anxious eyes. “Sweetie, let Mom handle

everything from now on. I swear, I’ll never let anyone hurt you again. Trust me, this time I won’t let you down
Serena’s throat was so tight she couldn’t get a word out. The pain in her chest felt like she was being ripped apart the stormed over to Eliana, her movements sharp and furious.
