Chapter 217
Dylan and Eliana were both visibly stunned by her words.
The last thing Eliana wanted was for anyone to find out about her history with Dylan.
Eliana snapped angrily. “Stella, you’re the one who ruined things between Dylan and me. You know we’re never getting back together, so why are you saying stuff like that just to mess with me?”
She was furious. If Stella hadn’t spilled the truth, she wouldn’t be stuck in this impossible situation. She wished Stella would just drop dead.
Stella shot back, “Mess with you? Dylan loves you as his life depends on it. He’d give up everything for you. Ehana, don’t twist the truth. I’ve watched with my own eyes how deeply he’s loved you all these years.
And for the record, my marriage to him was just a contract. The moment I heard you were coming back, I divorced him. 1 never came between you two. If anyone ruined things, it was Dylan and you, not me
She was just trying to mess with Eliana.
If something really happened to Dylan in six months, Eliana would walk away from him without looking back.
Eliana was the perfect example of human selfishness.
‘Let’s see if Eliana would still love Dylan the way she always claims to if he were ever down and out, Stella wondered.
Eliana turned to look at Dylan, who was as handsome as ever.
He stood tall and striking, his deep eyes glinting with a roguish smile as he looked thoughtfully at Stella.
Her heart did a flip. ‘Wait, did Dylan just realize I have feelings for Stella?‘ she wondered. ‘No, that can’t happen. If Dylan ever learned the truth, he’d never spare me a second glance.
Her voice was gentle as she called out, “Dylan?”
Dylan didn’t want to hear another word from Eliana. Seeing her put on that innocent act just made him feel cold inside.
He cut her off, his tone cold as ice. “Eliana, I’m going to get to the bottom of whether you were involved in that car accident.*
With that, Dylan strode away.
Serena watched his retreating figure, her mind racing.
She let out a cold laugh. “Dylan, putting on this act in front of me, pretending you can’t stand Eliana, do you really think that’ll make you feel any less guilty about what you two did?”
Dylan stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Stella, a faint smile flickering in his eyes. “Stella, I told you, I never meant to hurt you.
“Not even when it came to the baby. I only found out the baby was switched the day you told me the truth.”
“Shut up! Dylan, you have no right to talk about my child. You were never his father, not even for a single day.
“When he called out for help, you just turned a blind eye. My child will never call you Dad, not in this lifetime,” Serena snapped.
