Beatrice shot Kendall a cold, threatening look. “Kendall, don’t push your luck. If you keep being so stubborn. I won’t let you see Cassie again.”

She kept her sunglasses on the whole time, just so Kendall wouldn’t recognize her.

Kendall handed the card back to Beatrice, her gaze icy and determined. “Take your money. I don’t want it. I truly care about

“There’s a bump on the back of her head. After you take her, please get her checked at the hospital. It’s gotten smaller, but it still hurts her a lot.

“She always kicks off her blanket at night, so make sure she wears pants to bed. She likes-”

“Alright, I’ll make sure she’s well taken care of,” Beatrice interrupted.

Beatrice glanced at the card in her hand but didn’t say no. If Kendall didn’t want it, that was her choice.

She’d already offered. Kendall was the one who refused.

‘I’ll look after her. You don’t need to worry,” Beatrice said.

With that, Beatrice turned and walked away.

Sean followed behind, holding Cassie in his arms.

“Mommy, are you really leaving me? Mommy?” Cassie sobbed her heart out, her little face full of fear as she stared at Kendall.

‘Cassie, don’t cry. That’s your grandma. She’s just taking you out to have some fun, okay? She’ll bring you to the amusement park. You love going there, don’t you?

‘I’ll come get you later, so don’t be scared. They’re all your family, no one will hurt you,” Kendall called out, chasing after them.

Beatrice quickened her pace, not wanting to attract any unwanted attention.

In her haste, she failed to notice someone secretly trailing her from the shadows.

When they reached the elevator, Beatrice fixed Kendall with a warning glare. “Kendall, don’t follow us anymore. This won’t end well for you or Cassic.”

Kendall watched her daughter crying her heart out, and it felt like her own heart was being ripped apart. She couldn’t bring

herself to chase after them.

She sank to the floor, powerless, staring as the elevator doors closed in front of her.

“Cassie, I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” Kendall sat there on the floor, sobbing, unable to tear her eyes away from the elevator

doors.

She didn’t even have a way to reach them, and she didn’t know where they lived. ‘How am I ever supposed to see Cassie again?‘ she wondered.

Kendall tried to get up and run after them, but her legs just gave out from the pain. She managed to stand for a moment, but then she just sank back down, helpless.

“Cassie, Kendall sobbed, her voice breaking with grief as she pressed her face against the cold floor.

Serena watched Kendall from the shadows, her heart feeling like it was being ripped apart.

Dylan’s gaze was icy, full of menace as he watched everything unfold. His mother had come here herself.

Beatrice would do absolutely anything for Eliana, no matter what it took.

Not far away, Zoe couldn’t help but stare at Kendall, struck by how much she looked like her younger self.

From her eyes and brows especially, Zoe could see her own youth reflected in them.

‘Why did Beatrice have to take her child?‘ Zoe just couldn’t wrap her head around it. ‘Why did she have to hurt Kendall like this?‘
