Serena, Kendall, and Lyra left Louisa’s place.

After Kendall left, Serena told Lyra to have someone keep an eye on Louisa.

When Serena got home, she saw Liam still up waiting for her, playing with his toys on the couch.

He loved putting together blocks, and he’d already built a plane and a race car that sat beside him.

She took off her coat and walked over to hug him.

She ruffled his hair and asked, “Sweetie, why aren’t you asleep yet?”

Liam hugged her, giggling. “Mommy, you forgot. I said I’d wait for you! It’s not even late yet, and I’m not sleepy at all. Look, Mommy, I built this plane and car all by myself, just by looking at the instructions!”

He showed them off to her like they were his greatest treasures.

Serena smiled and praised him, “Wow, you’re awesome! You built it all by yourself just by looking at the pictures. Let’s go get you cleaned up and then head to bed early.”

‘Okay, Mommy! Will you tell me a story before bed?” Liam asked.

‘Of course! I’ll tell you a story in a bit,” Serena promised.

Serena scooped Liam up and took him to wash up.

Liam loved nothing more than having his mom all to himself.

‘Mommy, I watched cartoons today! I played at the playground for a whole hour, and I built with my blocks, too,” Liam chattered.

He kept talking about everything he’d done that day, every word overflowing with happiness.

Serena watched Liam chatter on, a smile on her face.

He was getting more and more cheerful every day. This was exactly how she hoped her little boy would grow up, carefree and happy.

“Sweetie, seeing you so happy every day makes me happy. You can do whatever you like, and if there’s anywhere you want to go, just tell me, and I’ll take you,” Serena told him gently.

“Yay! Can we go get fried chicken again?” Liam asked, his eyes lighting up. Liam was still crazy about fried chicken.

“Of course! We’ll go tomorrow,” Serena said, smiling as she bopped his nose. All kids loved fried chicken,

Serena ran the bathwater, stripped Liam down, and set him in the tub.

Liam absolutely loved bath time. Serena tossed in a couple of rubber ducks, and he immediately started squeezing them, giggling with delight.

“This is fun! Quack, quack, quack!” Liam giggled.

Liam was having the time of his life.

Serena played with him for half an hour before they finally called it a night and went to bed together.

Serena slept soundly through the night. When she woke up in the morning and glanced over, she saw Liam sleeping peacefully beside her. A contented smile spread across her face.

She used to dream of waking up to a happy family of three.

Now, it was just her and Liam, but she still felt truly happy, even without Dylan.

Serena slowly sat up, watching Liam sleep so peacefully. She bent down and kissed his forehead, then quietly slipped out of bed to wash up.

After she finished washing up, she went downstairs.

Lyra was already there, sitting at the dining table.

“Serena, come have breakfast! Is Liam still asleep?” Lyra asked, clearly missing Liam. She’d come over early just to see him.

Serena nodded with a smile. “Yeah, he’s still out like a light.”
