Eliana asked excitedly, “Mom, what’s your plan? Just tell me, and I’ll help out behind the scenes. You won’t have to worry about a thing.”
Beatrice had already made up her mind. After seeing Dylan’s attitude, she knew there was no point in hesitating.
She said, “Given how much Dylan cares about Stella, if he really does pass away in six months, he’ll leave everything to her
and their son.
“By then, we’ll probably be left with nothing. So, it’s better to act now. Nolan’s got companies and accounts overseas, and I’ve already tracked down some of them. And those properties he owns in Kingsbridge? They’re already under my control.
“But Dylan’s already suspicious, so getting my hands on his money is going to be a lot tougher. Plus, since Nolan and I are divorced, I’ll have to find another way to get what I want.”
She’d spent years moving in elite circles, picking up plenty of know–how along the way.
Before her last cover was stripped away, she was determined to claim every bit of wealth she could. Only then would her life truly feel complete.
Beatrice’s gaze softened with motherly concern as she looked at Eliana.
She said, “Eliana, you don’t need to do anything for now. Just keep your guard up around Jasper and the Lennox family. If you want to secure your place as the lady of the house, you have to earn their trust.”
Eliana understood exactly what her mother meant, but she couldn’t help worrying that Beatrice might get hurt in the
process.
A cold glint flashed in Eliana’s eyes. “Mom, if you need anything, just call me. I’m already thinking about how to get rid of that greedy dog Jasper.”
Beatrice narrowed her eyes. Jasper was a disaster waiting to happen if they kept him around.
“Go on, head back. If we’re going to use him, let’s make sure he does our dirty work,” Beatrice said.
Eliana gave a twisted grin. “Alright! Why not let him get rid of Stella and Dylan’s kid for us?”
After reminding her, Eliana turned and walked away.
Beatrice’s gaze sharpened as she watched Eliana walk away, her figure fading into the distance.
Beatrice let out a quiet laugh. ‘Eliana’s got the right idea,’ she thought, ‘Only by being ruthless can you truly get everything you want!‘
Dylan got back to the office from the Ashford family home.
As soon as he sat down, Jack handed him a file. “Mr. Ashford, your mother has been transferring several of Mr. Hale’s properties behind the scenes. Take a look at this.”
When Dylan saw it was the storefront on Main Street and two villas, a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes.
“Got it. Any news on who Yvonne’s real father is?” Dylan asked, his mind racing. Right now, all he wanted to know was if it
was Rowan.
But the way Rowan had been acting lately made Dylan seriously doubt it.

If it really was Rowan, then that time at the hospital, he wouldn’t have barged in and said all that.
He’d clearly been trying to smear Eliana and Beatrice.
Dylan could tell he wasn’t faking it.
Dylan stood up, looking much healthier now.
He walked over to the floor–to–ceiling windows, his sharp figure outlined against the glass. He radiated a fierce, almost irrogant energy.
His lips pressed into a thin line, a trace of anger beneath his half–smile.
Jack shook his head and said, “Not yet, Mr. Ashford. If it’s someone from the Ashford family, they’d all have the same genes, so it’s tough to pinpoint who it is.
I’ve got people watching your mother, but lately she’s either been at home or out shopping. She hasn’t tried to contact that
man.”
Dylan let out a cold laugh. “After I went over there today, she probably realized I had people following her. She won’t try to find that man so easily. He’s her last card. She’s not going to let me discover him without a fight.”
Dylan slowly turned to face him, his eyes icy and full of mockery. “Maybe my mother is even more twisted than I thought. Do you know what her endgame really is?”
Dylan strode back to his chair and sat down, his posture tall and unyielding.
He tilted his head back, showing off that flawless jawline, just a hint of tension tightening his features.
Jack looked puzzled, having no clue what Mr. Ashford’s mother was really after.
“Mr. Ashford, what exactly is her endgame?” Jack asked.
