Jasper broke out in a cold sweat, his whole body trembling. He cried out in panic, “Dylan, please! I was wrong! I’ll talk. I’ll tell you everything!
“It was Eliana! She was the one who made me do it! She kept saying Stella was in her way, and told me to target Stella and tell her it was you who wanted her dead. She just wanted to completely destroy your relationship.
“But I had no clue she wanted Stella gone to hide that she’d stolen the baby. She just didn’t want Stella to ever find out about the child, so she wanted her dead.
“Everything I’ve said is true. I really don’t know anything else.”
Dylan had already figured out what Eliana and his mother were plotting, but hearing Jasper spill the truth out loud still hit him like a punch to the gut. The pain was raw, tearing him apart inside.
Dylan snapped, his anger barely contained. “What else did Eliana do?”
Jasper caught sight of Dylan’s eyes, burning with rage and murder, and he completely lost his nerve. “I swear, I don’t know what else she did! If I did, I never would’ve let her trick me!”
He really had no idea Eliana had switched Stella’s baby.
Now it all made sense to Jasper. Eliana planned to use him to get rid of Stella, so she could live her life without a shred of guilt.
As for him, he could be turned in for murder at any moment and end up behind bars. Eliana never wanted him to live the good life. She was just throwing him under the bus, pushing him straight toward ruin.
Jasper thought, ‘Damn that brat! I’m her own father! How could she treat me like this?
‘Thank god Dylan still doesn’t know the truth about Nolan.
‘He only suspects me. He doesn’t have any solid evidence.’
Dylan, seething with rage, pressed, “Were you behind what happened last night?”
Jasper shook his head frantically. “I really don’t know anything about last night!”
Just then, Jasper’s phone started ringing.
Miles walked in, holding Jasper’s phone. The caller ID showed it was from Brad.
Dylan told Miles to answer the call.
Brad’s voice crackled through the phone, frantic and desperate. “Jasper, who the hell is Stella? The head- hunting company just got wiped out in one sweep!

Chapter 357
“My own guys turned on me, and now the ones who escaped are hunting me down! Damn it, you bastard! You’ve screwed me over for good this time!”
Jasper was speechless.
All the secrets he tried so hard to hide ended up spilling out anyway.
“Brad, what nonsense are you spouting? Last night was all your doing. Don’t try to pin that on me! I never told you to do it,” Jasper shot back.
Brad snapped, “Oh, seriously, Jasper! You think you can dump all the blame on me? Don’t forget, you had me try to kill Stella more times than I can count!
“Didn’t you say she was just some orphan? As long as we took her out, your daughter could be with Dylan, and you’d get your hands on the whole Ashford family, right?
“I’m barely hanging onto my life here. Do you really think I’m still waiting for your so–called riches? Send me another 60 grand, or I’ll spill everything to Dylan.
“And about his father…” Brad was just about to spill more, but suddenly the call cut off. All anyone heard was a terrified scream from the other end.
Sweat broke out on Jasper’s forehead, but when the call suddenly went silent, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He thought, ‘Thank god he didn’t reveal the truth about Nolan.
‘If that ever came out, I’d be done for.‘
Miles frowned. “Mr. Ashford, the call’s been disconnected.”
Dylan shot Jasper a cold look. “Looks like you really are mixed up in whatever happened to my dad.”
Jasper kept his head down, too scared to say a word.
Dylan looked at Miles. “Have someone look into Brad. I want everything on him.”
Jasper’s face went ghostly pale.
He thought, ‘It’s over. Everything’s over.
‘That bastard Brad is definitely going to throw me under the bus and pin everything on me!
Dylan pressed on, his voice icy. “Was the car accident I had a while back your doing, too?”
