He wasn’t the kind of person to work with someone just because they were powerful. What mattered to him was their character and whether they could maintain a long–term partnership.
Richard thought. The business empire in Kingsbridge sees new rulers every year.
No one knows who would make it onto the rich list next year.
‘As for Dylan, he is nothing short of a legend.
A few months back. Dylan approached Richard for a partnership and Richard agreed without a second thought.
Serena spoke softly, “Richard, since it’s a win–win, I’m relieved. I head out now. I’ll leave you to chat.”
Spencer gazed at her warmly. “Serena, could you give me your address? I want to drop by and wish you a Merry Christmas. You’ve helped me so many times already.”
“No need for that. You already gave me a Christmas gift. Let’s catch up some other time. Before the New Year, we can talk about work.” Serena replied.
Spencer looked a little disappointed. He said, “Alright. I’ll get in touch in a couple of days.”
Serena nodded.

Spencer already knew the answer, but he still felt a bit down.
Dylan looked at Richard apologetically. “Mr. Ellington, I’ll head out now. I’ll come by another day for some coffee.”
With that, Dylan turned and walked out.
Richard didn’t pay it any mind. He invited Spencer to join him and asked the servant to serve coffee.
Spencer could only watch helplessly as Dylan left, a shadow passing over his gaze.
He and Dylan had been like brothers ever since they were kids, growing up side by side.
He knew what the outcome would be, but he just couldn’t let go Serena was the woman he fell for the moment he laid eyes
on her.
Spencer and Richard were joking around and enjoying themselves as they talked.
Not far away, Leon felt invisible, as if everyone had forgotten he was even there.
He couldn’t help but envy these heirs from powerful families. He thought, “They were born at the finish line while the rest of the world is still running the race.
No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t even get close to their staging line.
‘Four years…. It’s time to call it quits. I’m finally going to marry Je
Watching the two of them deep in conversation, he really wished he’d gone into finance instead.
He’d chosen to become a doctor, but the path was way tougher an he’d expected. Richard had introduced him to some people, but Leon never really had much to offer, so he barely ke in touch.

Dylan chased after Serena to the garage.
Serena gave him a wry smile. “Mr. Ashford, what are you doing here? Aren’t you freezing in this weather?”
Dylan gave her a long, gentle look.
His tall, lean frame seemed to envelop her as he smiled, “I just wanted to see you home.”
Serena gave a small, wry smile. She thought, ‘His smile is really something else. Ignoring the feelings, he is just nice to look
“I already turned Spencer down, so naturally I’ll have to turn you down too. No need to trouble yourself, I’ve got a driver to take me home,” Serena said.
Dylan knew she’d refuse, but he still wasn’t ready to let go.
“Stella, let me just see you to your door. I promise I won’t bother you after that,” he insisted.
Serena wasn’t having it. “Dylan, I’ve already said everything I need to. Stop chasing after me, okay?”
She pulled open the car door and slipped inside.
Dylan got in right after her.
Serena furrowed her brows, giving him a look with a hint of irritation.
Dylan gestured toward the snowy scene outside, his tone steady and sincere. “It’s really coming down out there. I just can’t let you head home alone. Let me see you to your door. After that I promise I won’t bother you anymore.”
Serena gave him a resigned glance and asked the driver to head out.
“Why go through all this trouble in this freezing weather? My place is only a few minutes away,” Serena said.
She lived at Cloudmere Estate, but even if Dylan showed up, he might not even realize it was her place. And honestly, even if he did, it didn’t really matter. He had no say in it anymore.
Dylan met her steady gaze. There was no trace of warmth left in her eyes for him. For a second, his heart felt heavy. ‘Stella, can I see my son?”
