oh youche
Eliana nodded obediently. Of course, she understood. Even though she did not know exactly why Beatrice was doing all this, she knew that everything Beatrice did was for her own good.
“Mrs. Ashford, please help me look after Liam. I’m going to find Dylan. I need to explain this to him in person,” Eliana said.
Beatrice nodded in agreement. “Go. Dylan won’t blame you.”
‘This must not get back to Dylan’s father,‘ Beatrice thought.
She had kept the matter tightly hidden from Dylan’s grandparents. If the two elders found out what had happened to the Lambert family, they would never agree to the marriage.
At the thought of this, Beatrice’s expression darkened noticeably.
Those three had never liked Eliana in the first place. Still, Beatrice could only feel at ease if Eliana lived right under her watchful eye.
Beatrice looked at Eliana with clear sympathy. “Eliana, once you marry Dylan, cut ties with the Lambert family.”
Eliana choked slightly. ‘Cut ties with the Lambert family?‘ she wondered.
“Mrs. Ashford,” Eliana began.
“Jasper is far too greedy. If you don’t sever that relationship, Edwin and Dylan’s father will never accept you,” Beatrice said. “I’ve spent all these years paving the way for you. Do you still not understand my intentions?”
Eliana’s gaze flickered as she looked at the kind–faced madam before her. Beatrice was exactly fifty, yet her eyes were sharp and calculating.
Beatrice was elegant and distant, but she treated Eliana exceptionally well, far better than Eliana’s own biological mother ever had.
Eliana had never asked Beatrice why. Eliana had never dared to ask, either, afraid that once again she was benefiting from taking credit that should have belonged to Stella, just like that fashion design competition.
Eliana’s hatred for Stella was simple. Stella was too outstanding, always overshadowing Eliana in every way.
Eliana smiled gratefully, “Mrs. Ashford, I understand your efforts. Once the Lambert family gets through this crisis, I’ll cut ties with the Lambert family.”
‘No one is allowed to stop me from marrying Dylan, not even my own family,‘ Eliana thought.
Beatrice’s smile grew even gentler. “Okay. I’ll have the driver take you to Dylan.”
Eliana said her goodbyes and left.

Meanwhile, Dylan had found Jasper.
The two met at a lounge.
When Jasper saw Dylan arrive, he bowed deeply in front of him.
“Mr. Ashford, I really didn’t mean it. I thought the customers wouldn’t be able to tell. It was my fault. Please help the Lambert family one more time,” Jasper said.
Jasper had never imagined the truth would come out so quickly.
What he had done to Stella had been well concealed, but the counterfeit liquor was another matter entirely
He could not bring himself to destroy the counterfeit alcohol stored in the warehouse.
Now it had all been seized by the authorities.
Dylan looked at Jasper with cold, unfathomable eyes. “Jasper, you’ve truly disappointed me. You promised me last time that counterfeit liquor would never appear in my bar again. Yet it’s only been a few days, and you’ve already ruined it.”
After speaking coldly, Dylan turned and walked away.
Jasper rushed forward a few steps, grabbed Dylan’s arm, and begged through tears. “Dylan, you have to help me. I’ve already taken a piece of land. If you don’t help me, the Lambert family will be completely finished.
“I’m your son’s grandfather. You can’t just abandon the Lambert family.”
Dylan closed his eyes. If it weren’t for Eliana, he would have beaten Jasper mercilessly on the spot.
Dylan opened his mouth. “You-”
“Hi, Dylan.” At that moment, Eliana’s gentle voice came from the doorway.
Dylan turned abruptly toward the soft, anxious woman in front of him. Eliana looked pure and delicate, yet seeing her brought him no joy at all. Instead, the chill in his expression deepened.
Suddenly, Dylan thought of Stella, her hands covered in blood.
For some reason, at that very moment, he desperately wanted to see her. He wanted to explain to her that he had not done that.
‘Who has been driving a wedge between us all this time? Could it be Spencer? If not him, then who else?‘ Dylan thought.
Sara Lili is a daring romance writer who turns icy landscapes into scenes of fiery passion. She loves crafting hot love stories while embracing the chill of Iceland’s breathtaking cold.
