Wyatt walked up beside Serena, his voice low and gentle. “Serena, I’ll see you down. Consider it a farewell. While I’m away from Kingsbridge, if you have the time, come keep my grandfather company. He’s watched you grow up.”

Serena smiled and nodded, “Sure. I’ll come by and spend time with Mr. Ellington. Though my grandfather is traveling, in a few days, Mr. Ellington will probably go join him.”

These old men were close friends; over the years, their bond had remained strong.

Dylan narrowed his eyes at the two walking shoulder to shoulder. A wave of coldness seeped into his gaze; they looked unusually close.

Eliana was surprised, too. ‘How does Stella know Wyatt, the heir of the Ellington family?‘ she wondered.

Jealousy burned in her eyes.

“Dylan, Stella is impressive. She knows all the powerful families in Kingsbridge. Look at how close she is to him. I wonder what their relationship is,” Eliana said on purpose, trying to lead Dylan’s thoughts astray.

“Alright, the car’s here. I’m going. We’ll meet again when you’re back,” Serena said, stepping forward.

Wyatt quickly moved to open the car door for her in a gentlemanly manner. “Serena, goodbye,” he smiled warmly.

Serena waved with a smile and let Chris drive.

Once inside the car, Serena closed her eyes to rest. She was exhausted and just wanted to go home and sleep, but Jacob had insisted she meet him tonight.

Her mind, however, was haunted by Liam’s cries and the longing in his little outstretched hands, desperately seeking a hug.

Each of his tiny cries of “Mama” shattered her heart.

Serena’s eyes snapped open. She couldn’t wait; she had to get Liam’s sample for a paternity test.

She rarely went back to the Ashford mansion, and now, Beatrice certainly wouldn’t allow it.

Dylan needed to discuss the last car accident compensation in person. It seemed that only by getting close to Dylan could Serena obtain Liam’s sample.
