From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 258

Eleanor nodded. “Alright.”

She still hadn’t told her mentor about the marriage yet. “I want to visit him sometime soon.”

“Sure, we can go together. Maybe we’ll surprise my uncle too.”

Eleanor pressed her lips together, looking doubtful.

Was he really sure it would be a surprise and not a shock?

Sometimes, Jessie Goff was surprisingly easy to please.

She’d already decided she wasn’t going back to The Clarkson Estate after the wedding. She liked living on her own, just like before. If Olga wanted to move in with them, Jessie didn’t mind at all. In fact, she was almost looking forward to seeing Autumn left alone in that huge house, miserable without Olga’s company.

The wedding was happening next month. Everything felt rushed. There wasn’t even time to order a custom gown. She’d checked out a bunch of big-name bridal brands, but nothing really clicked for her.

Then, online, she found an account that caught her eye.

She checked out the store in person.

The moment Jessie walked in, she announced, “I want the wedding dress in your window.”

Sydney had hired a shop assistant to handle customers so she could focus on designing.

“I’m sorry, ma’am, that dress has already been reserved.”

Jessie rolled her eyes. “A million. I’ll buy it.”

“That’s... not really how it works.”

“Two million.” Jessie didn’t care how much it cost. She had to have it.

“Please wait here. I’ll ask my boss.”

Sydney came out after the assistant told her what was happening. She stopped short when she saw Jessie.

Just then, another icy voice came from behind her. Kristina stood there, arms crossed, staring Jessie down. “My aunt was so kind. I don’t know how she ended up with a daughter like you.”

“Jessie Goff, you’re a disgrace.”

Jessie’s face flushed bright red. “Kristina, how can you say that?”

Kristina snorted. “Why shouldn’t I? You were the one having an affair, then you blamed someone else. You pushed Sydney into making mistakes. Isn’t that enough shame for my aunt?”

“If you ask me, you should go take another DNA test. I really don’t want to be related to you.”

Jessie’s face changed color again and again. “You…”

“Fine. Don’t sell it. Whatever.” She stormed out, slamming the door behind her.

She’d swallowed more frustration in the last few days than in the entire past year.

As soon as she stepped outside, she bumped straight into a thin man wearing a baseball cap. Her eyes went wide. “You!”
