From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 259

Kristina let out a string of curses, feeling a little better afterward. She glanced at her friend, studying her face. “Sydney, are you sure you’re alright? You didn’t get the short end of the stick, did you?”

Sydney laughed. “She’s not exactly the type to throw punches. What could I possibly lose?”

Kristina nodded, relieved. “Good. That’s what I wanted to hear.”

Her attention drifted to the computer screen, where Eleanor’s photo was displayed. She stared at it for a moment, lost in thought.

“So, this is the woman you once accused of being the other woman?”

Sydney gave a sheepish grin. “Yeah, that’s her. She’s gorgeous, and her husband’s pretty handsome too. I really jumped to conclusions.”

Kristina tilted her head, still thinking. “She looks so much like my aunt. I remember my grandma saying there was a girl who looked just like her, and now that I’m seeing her, it’s actually true.”

Sydney nodded. “Yeah, she’s really pretty. And honestly, she’s been so forgiving about the whole thing. Oh, and your wedding dress design? It’s stunning. Like, really stunning.”

Kristina smiled, proud. “You were right. She agreed to let me use this photo for promotion. If people see it, I bet it’ll attract a ton of fans.”

Kristina shared in her friend’s excitement, feeling genuinely happy for her.

But while some people were celebrating, others were far from pleased.

Jessie Goff sat in a coffee shop, across from a man she could barely tolerate. Disgust was written all over her face.

“Patrick Lee, what are you trying to pull?”

Patrick Lee grinned, looking sleazy. “Relax, Ms. Goff. I just want to show you something.”

He pushed a manila envelope across the table. Jessie eyed it with suspicion, then opened it. Inside was a paternity test report.

Jessie rolled up the windows, told the driver to go, and turned on Patrick with a glare. “So you couldn’t blackmail Eleanor, and now you think you can mess with me?”

Patrick looked way too sure of himself. “I’m not messing with anyone. Last time, we were both fooled. Your mom, Juliana, switched you and Eleanor when you were babies.”

“You only tested Benjamin and Eleanor before. Did you ever check Juliana and Eleanor?”

Jessie stared at the report, eyes glued to the final line that spelled out the father-daughter relationship. It didn’t make sense. But suddenly, so many things seemed to click into place. Juliana had been their nanny. She’d always been extra nice to Jessie, but Jessie had chalked it up to the job. Then there was that time Juliana slapped Eleanor. Now, it felt like karma was circling back.

Juliana never treated Eleanor well, and Jessie knew it.

Her heart pounded as she shot Patrick a glare. “If you’re lying to me, I swear I’ll see you locked up myself.”

Patrick just shrugged. At the end of the day, he was a gambler. All he cared about was the money.
