ELOISE.
The scent of Summer’s fake tears still seemed to cling to my clothes like bad perfume. As I walked out of the Lockwood mansion, I felt my wolf start jumping restlessly inside me. She was snarling, a bit satisfied that we had finally ripped the mask of Summer’s evil face. Deep down, I knew that summer would find a way to come back out of that little twist, but I had planted the doubt, and that was all I needed because when things started getting bad, and I started bringing out all the evil things she had done, her family wouldn’t be exactly shocked.
“Eloise, wait.” I heard someone call, looked back to see Antoine running towards me, and my guard went up immediately. I didn’t feel the need to be in the same space with this man right now.
“What do you want?” I bit at him.
“Im scrry, Eloise,” he said after he waited for a bit. I was about to tell him that he was wasting my time.
“This should be interesting. You’re sorry for what?” I asked him with a smile.
“Im sorry for making you feel the way I did. I should have believed you, we all should have believed you, the recording you have now is so much evidence.” He said, scratching the back of his head.
He looked like a lost puppy, and maybe this act would have gotten to me if it had happened years ago, when I still wanted their affirmation. But right now, I just couldn’t find it in me to give a fuck.
“So?” I asked.
“Excuse me?” he asked, squinting his eyes.
“I said, so what? What am I supposed to do with your apology now? Am I supposed to start jumping and be happy that you’ve apologised to me? Do you even know what you’re apologizing for? I doubt that you do you can keep your apology to yourself and your family.” I said, trying as much as possible not to lose my composure because I was getting a bit emotional, having expected this apology for years, but it’s too late.
“It’s too late,” I added and turned my back on him and the entire family, then walked out of the estate.
I didn’t give a fuck anymore. They could hate me as much as they wanted; apparently, I didn’t need them to do stuff. I just needed myself, and I needed to be confident and maybe a little bit of Damon.
Because honestly, I don’t think I would have been able to do all of this and handle it on my own. I sighed and pulled out my phone, in the mood for some fun activity this afternoon.
Then I dialled the number of the contacts I needed to call, and she picked up after the second ring.
“My favorite cousin,” Liv’s voice rang through the phone.
“Hey, Liv. How’re you this afternoon?” I asked her, and she squealed.
“I am wonderful, I’ve been working on some new jewelry designs that I can’t wait for you to try out. Plus, mum has been trying to get me out of the house for a while now, but I’ve just been too busy, and I don’t want to go anywhere.”
“Well, isn’t that perfect? I was about to go for a horse ride. Do you want to join me?” I asked her.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve done that, and since you’re asking nicely, I’ll come along,” Liv said, and I laughed.
“Okay, I’ll come pick you up in a few minutes. Get dressed.” I told her.

“Yes, my Queen,” she said in the most sassy way, and I rolled my eyes. I saw the car and the security coming out to open the door
for me.
“My Queen,” he acknowledged as he watched me enter the car and then closed the door.
I didn’t know why, but all the workers at the palace have been calling me Queen, even though I haven’t been inaugurated yet. The coronation and the mating ceremony were fast approaching, and I couldn’t help but feel nervous and anxious about it. There were a lot of things already attached to it, and I hoped it went well.
The thought of Damon made my heart skip a beat, I’ve been treating him and the bad smell coming from him as reduced drastically but there is still a feeling deep down on me somewhere that there was something bigger coming, but I tried as much as possible to push it to the back of my head, cause I hated thinking of negative thoughts.
