Olivia lunged forward, grabbing a document. Her hands shook as she read the bold letters.

“Dad…you did this?” she gasped, her voice breaking. My heart broke for her because she didn’t know how cruel her father was. “You put a mortgage on all of Mum’s houses? You stole mum’s hard work to care for this woman?”

Ryan didn’t even look ashamed; he sneered at his own daughter, his face twisting into a mask of pure arrogance.

“I had to! Your mother is useless; she couldn’t give me a son. I need a son to carry my family name; there was no way I was going to settle with you, baby girl. You’re just a girl, and you people don’t have much use for you these days. That’s why I need a son, a son to further my lineage when I’m gone. My lineage cannot end with a girl. I did what I had to do to secure an heir.”

My blood turned ice. Without a word, I stepped forward.

I delivered a sharp, loud slap to his face; the sound of the slap filled the whole room and maybe even the entire hotel. Ryan stumbled back, his glass of scotch shattering on the floor. He clutched his bright and red cheek, looking at me in total shock, like he could not believe that I just slapped him.

“You actually put your hands on me?” he hissed.

“That was for Aunt Laura,” I said, my voice vibrating with deadly power. “You lived like a King on her money while you treated her like trash. You cheated ok her for years, and now you’re trying to throw her out so you can move your mistress into her home? Not on my fucking watch, Ryan.”

He tried to lunge at me, but Damon moved like a shadow. He didn’t even have to touch Ryan; he just stood in front of me, his massive frame blocking the light. The sheer weight of Damon’s aura made him buckle at his knees.

“Dont even try it,” Damon warned, his voice a low and lethal growl. “Unless you want to see how fast I can end your useless life.”

Just then, the door opened, and two men in sharp suits walked in, carrying leather briefcases. I knew that they were the most powerful lawyers in the city because Damon hired them for me.

“Mr. Ryan,” one of them said, sliding a thick document onto the coffee table. “This is the divorce agreement, he states that you’ll walk away with nothing. No houses, no shares, and no alimony. You will also return every cent you embezzled from the family account over the last five years.”

“I won’t sign that,” Ryan screamed, looking at the mistress for support, but she was already backing away, clutching her son and looking at the door.

Oh, I thought she was just a blonde bimbo; she had some sense after all.

“It’s all mine, I earned it by putting up with Laura’s childlessness. She was barren for Christ’s sake.”

I let out a cold, mocking laugh. “You earned it? You’ve never worked a day in your life without using the Lockwood name, and if you think you’re keeping a single penny, take a look at the second folder.”

I tossed a small blue folder on the table. “That contains the proof of your illegal bank transfers and the taxes you didn’t pay. If you don’t sign the papers right now, I’m calling the high council. They don’t take kindly to thieves. Oh, you have two options. I either take you to the high council, or I leave my husband here to fuck you up, and trust me, it won’t be a pretty sight.” I told him, I didn’t miss the way I called him my husband. Fuck.

Ryan’s face went from ugly purple to a sickly, ghastly gray. He opened the folder, and his hands began to shake so hard he nearly dropped it. He’s just realising the situation he’s in; he’s been exposed. Every secret and lie has been exposed.

The mistress looked at the papers that were scattered around. “You told me you were the boss! You told me all that money was yours!” she cried, and I could only smirk.

“Shut up,” Ryan barked back at her.

He looked at me, then at the King standing behind him, and he knew he was trapped. With a trembling hand, he picked up the pen and scrawled his name on the line. He had just lost everything in a matter of minutes.

“We are done here,” I said, snatching the papers back and looking at Olivia. “Let’s go, we have good news for your mother.”

Olivia looked at her father with so much hatred in her eyes. “I hope you rot in hell,” she said and turned away.

As we walked out, the mistress was already screaming at Ryan, calling him a liar and a loser. The trash was finally being taken out.

When we got back home, Aunt Laura was sitting up in bed. She looked pale, but the moment she saw our faces, a tiny bit of color returned to her cheeks.

“It’s over, Aunt Laura,” I said, sitting down beside her and handing her the signed papers. He’s gone. You keep the houses, the money, and your dignity; he has nothing.”

Laura kept the papers to her chest and wept; this time, they weren’t tears of pain but those of relief.
