The office was quieter than usual, but not in a peaceful way; it wasn’t the kind of silence that pressed against your skin, heavy with thoughts that refused to settle. I sat behind my desk, flipping through files j had already read twice, my mind trying to put together something solid, something I could use
Zara was across from me, her legs crossed, scrolling through her tablet with sharp focus. She hadn’t said much in the last few minutes. Which told me she was thinking just as hard as I was. We weren’t just looking for rumors or suspicions anymore. We needed proof, something undeniable.
“The Lunar fashion night is in a few days,” she said, finally breaking the silence. “If we are going to do anything, it has to be done before or on that night.”
I leaned back slightly, exhaling through my nose. “Thats the only stage big enough to make it matter.”
Because this wasn’t just about exposing Summer, it was about making sure everybody saw it.
Zara tapped her screen a few times, then tilted it toward me. “Ive been tracking some of her movements,” she said. “At first, nothing made sense. Random outings, different locations…no clear pattern.”
I leaned forward, my attention sharpening.
“But then I noticed something, there’s one place she keeps going back to, not often enough to be obvious, but consistently enough to stand out.”
I frowned slightly. “Where?”
Zara zoomed in on the map that she had pulled up. “It’s an underground district, old tunnels beneath the city, most people don’t even know that they exist.”
Something about that didn’t sit right with me. “Why would she go there?” I asked.
Zara gave a small shrug, but her eyes were thoughtful. “Thats what I’m trying to figure out, it’s not a place you visit for no reason.”
My fingers tapped lightly against the desk as my thoughts began to shift.
Underground. Hidden. Repeated visits.
It wasn’t random; it couldn’t be. What could she be doing out there? Before I could respond, my phone rang through the room sharply
“Unknown number,” Zara said.
I picked it up anyway. “Talk.”
“It’s me.” My private investigator’s voice rang through the speaker. “I think I might have found something.”
“Go on.” I straightened immediately.
“You were fight to look into her. Summer isn’t just sneaking around for no reason, she’s running from something.”

“What kind of something?” Lasked.

“illegal fashion trade. Underground shows, private auctions. She’s been hosting them in hidden locations, mostly in dangerous places.”
“They sell high–end designs. Or at least, that’s what buyers think, because it’s fake. Copies and replicas made to look real”
“Thats fraud.” Zara mouthed.
“And the buyers?” Lasked.
“They don’t know. They think they are getting exclusive pieces. Some of them are even tied to powerful packs.” That information made this bigger than I expected.
“Can you prove it?” I asked
“I have footage. Transactions, meetings, even part of a show. It’s not complete yet, but it’s enough to raise serious questions.”
That was all I needed. “Send in everything,” I said, “Now.”
The call ended, and I slowly lowered the phone. For a second, neither of us spoke. Then Zara leaned, a slow and dangerous smile forming on her lips. “Well, isn’t that a good way for things to be easier for us? Not to talk about how perfect it is.”
I nodded my head. “It’s more than perfect, it’s exactly what we needed.”
Because this just wasn’t gossip anymore. It was evidence.
“This ties directly into the Lunar fashion night. I can’t believe she’s been running illegal shows on the side, so many skeletons does she have in her closet?” Zara asked.
“Thats how greedy people behave for you, I’m not surprised because that’s always been her behavior, I won’t be surprised if there’s still something worse that we don’t even know about,” I told her.
“What if she recovers from this?” Zara asks.
“Oh, trust me, she won’t because everything will be exposed publicly. It won’t be like when her family kept everything a secret.”
I stood up, walking to the window to look down at the streets of the palace. “If we do this, it has to be clean and neat. No fuck ups, no mistakes.” I told her.
“Agreed. We present in a way that fires people to question everything about her,” she said.
