Getting home, I didn’t expect what I saw. I saw red roses decorating the floor; little, cute candles were arranged in the walkway to somewhere I didn’t know. The maids and guards that were usually stationed at the entrance were not there, I frowned. What was going on? I asked myself, but there was no answer.

I walked further into the house and dropped my bag.

“Hello,” I called out.

But the house echoed.

I continued walking where the petals and the candles led. It wouldn’t be so bad to see where I was headed. After a moment of walking through the living room and the hallways that led to the dining room, I finally saw what awaited me.

There was a buffet on the long dining table, and my eyes traced everything until I got to the head of the table, where Damon was seated, like a King that he was.

“What are all these?” I asked as I walked further into the room.

He had a smirk on his face as he stood up.

“Welcome back,” he said, and walked all the way to the other end of the table and pulled out a chair for me. I looked at him weirdly, and he tilted his head. I finally sat down, seeing that he was not willing to give me an explanation for what all of these were.

“Thank you,” I said and got comfortable in the chair. By the time I was done, he was walking back to the far end of the table.

“What’s the occasion?” I asked when he was seated.

“The occasion? I just thought to do something special,” he said without a care in the world, and it made my heart jump. He said that, like it didn’t hold any weight, but it did. It held a lot of weight because it did different things to my heart.

“Really?” I asked because I didn’t have anything to say. “You cooked all these by yourself?” I asked.

“Well, I had little help from Mary and the other maids, but I made sure to prepare the world, like he was saying the most normal thing ever.

“Thank you,” I said. I had a lot of questions and a lot of explanations, but I didn’t know where to start. I was confused myself

Without another word, I dug in.

I started with the steak. It looked so juicy, and he had already cut them out. I took a bite, and different emotions hit me it tasted yo good that I couldn’t help but let out a moan, and at the same time, I couldn’t help but feel tears well up in my eyes.

“It’s so good,” I said, and he looked like he let out a sigh.

“Thank fuck.” he said, and I smiled, pushing the tears back down.

“I didn’t know you could cook,” I said.

“Well, you did say we should get to know each other outside of having sex. So this is me allowing you to know me. I enjoy cooking, actually,” he said, and I frowned because I sure as hell hated cooking.
