“I think he left already; he didn’t call your name for the last twenty minutes before the rain began,” Eloise informed me, slumped forward in disappointment. So he left. I said to myself.

“Let’s watch the new episodes of Euphoria that have been released to get your mind off it. Plus, it’s raining, the perfect weather to watch a movie.” Eloise said, and I nodded.

“Let’s do it.” We started watching the episodes, and it actually got my attention. I’ve been meaning to watch the episodes, and I’m glad that I could do it with my girl.

The door opened, and Damon walked into the den. His eyes immediately found Eloise, and I couldn’t help but smile. The man liked her; his gaze said it all. He walked towards her as if he was in a trance and placed a kiss on her hair, before inhaling like he’s been starved for years.

Eloise blushed, and I gave her an “I told you so❞ look.

“Im back, how was your day?” he asked.

“Im okay. My day was fine, Lex and I had been having a good time. You?”

“Work was a bit crazy. Well, I’ll leave you two to it. I’ll be in the study if you need anything. I’ll go prepare dinner in a while,” he said.

“Okay,” Eloise said. She looked like a baby in his presence, unlike the stern Eloise.

“Hi, Alexis,” he greeted, and I waved.

“Good evening, my King. Thank you for letting me stay here.” I said.

“It’s fine. My wife’s friend is family,” he said, and with that, he was gone.

Once he was out of sight, I looked at Eloise. “I told you he likes you, and what’s this about him cooking?”

“He likes cooking. His love languages are a lot, and act of service is one of them. He has been cooking for me since that night, and he makes sure that food doesn’t run out of the freezer,” she explained.

She was about to reply when a phone ringing caught our attention. I returned to the movie and allowed her to pick up her call.

“What??” she said in a minute in an alarmed voice, and I looked at her, wondering what was wrong.

“He’s been outside all this time?” she asked, and my heart went down to my stomach.

“Let him in, please,” she said and hung up.

“Oh my God, he has been outside?” I asked, tearing up.

*The head of security said he has been standing in the rain since and refused to leave. I’m so sorry, I should have asked the security to check,” she said, and I rushed downstairs to meet him.

He didn’t do well in the rain; the rain always made him sick. Fuck. Why didn’t he leave or at least take cover in his car? I asked myself this question.

One of the guards downstairs put an umbrella over my head when they saw that I was going outside in the rain without cover.

I watched as his car rolled into the curb. I moved forward to meet him. He came out of the car, his eyes focused on me. “Give him an umbrella, please,” I told anyone who would hear me.

One of the guards rushed to give him one, but he didn’t even use it; he just came to me and immediately went to his knees.
