Chapter 41 Do I Look Like Your Mother?

I still couldn’t believe that Damon had done all that just twenty minutes ago; I’m still hot and bothered, still turned on. Still throbbing, and I didn’t have any idea what to do.

I looked over to Damon, who was staring at the doctor, I mean, his doctor, who he brought to run a check–up on me like he wanted to kill him. Why? I don’t know..

I’m just as clueless as you are right now. He doesn’t even allow the man to do his job. I could tell that the man was frustrated.

“Your Majesty, I get that this woman belongs to you. You have her scent all over you, I know that. But will you please let me treat her in peace? You brought me here to check up on her, no? How can I know if something is wrong with her if you won’t even let me look at her?” the doctor, who was older than Damon, asked.

“I don’t know,” Damon replied, his hand was placed under his jaw as if he was also thinking about what could be done.

Can you imagine? I shook my head and turned to the doctor.

“Sir, please, I don’t want your time to be wasted here, so please go ahead and do what you have to do,” I said in a calm voice.

“I appreciate you, ma’am. But I really can’t do anything until His Majesty clears me to. I’m not ready to have my head hung on a pike in front of my family house,” the man said.

“Your Majesty, Can the doctor go ahead and treat me?” I asked, sarcasm and frustration dripping from my voice like no other.

“No, he c-”

I think the glare I had on my face shut him up.

“Im sorry, Your Majesty, but I have things to do. We have all been sitting here for the past twenty minutes, waiting for you to say something that makes sense. I have things to do, and I’m sure the nice doctor here has things to do as well. So please, if you will stop wasting all our time, I’ll really appreciate that,” I said in an icy voice.

After a few minutes of silence, he waved his hand.

“Go ahead,” he said.

“This will be fast, Your Majesty,” the doctor said and git to work.

He first checked my bandaged hand and unwrapped it. Surprisingly, there was no sign of injury, and after I moved the hand around a few times, I didn’t feel any pain.

“That is weird. I was in pain on my way back here.” I told him, and he mumbled to himself.

“Can I check the gash on your tummy?” he asked, and Damon turned around immediately, but the moment I shot him one dangerous look, and he backed down,

“Yes, please.”

I rolled my blouse up and allowed him to check. By the time he removed the bandage, the gash was gone.

“This is quite surprising. For a wolf who isn’t an Alpha, Beta, Gamma, or a Luna, you can’t heal up this nicely. This is weird. Can you run me through everything that happened when you got back?”

“Nothing much, I went in and quickly changed because His Majesty told me that you were here,” I told him.

“Hmmm, any contact with anybody? A guard? Security?”

“What does being in contact with anybody have to do with this?” I asked.

“The only reason you’ll heal up this nicely, being the wolf of your status, is if you were with your mate,” he said, and I let out an ugly–sounding laugh.

“Im sorry, what? A mate?” I laughed some more and then some more. “But that’s not possible, I’ve not been mated to anybody. And I haven’t been in contact with anybody, maybe the security that helped me get out of the car? That’s the only person who has touched me ever since I got back.” I said, intentionally ignoring the whole bunch of touches that Damon and I had earlier because it wasn’t possible.

“I’d know if I met my mate, wouldn’t I? The whole electric buzz, the longing gazes, and other weird things, and I’m sure none of that has happened today. Which means, I don’t have a mate.” I said.

“Hmmm, well, I can’t quite say. I’m just a doctor, and the things I know regarding situations like this are basic. If you’re bothered about it, maybe you should get a seer. But if you are not, then you can move on,” he said, and I nodded.

I liked the latter. Moving on was good because I didn’t have to question weird possibilities.

“Thank you, doctor,” I said, and he nodded.

“You’re welcome. I’ll be on my way now,” he said, standing up to pack his things. “Your Majesty, I’ll head back to the capital now,” he said and bowed.

“You should prepare to move you and your family here. I’m turning this place into the capital because I’ll be staying here.” Damon said, and the doctor looked shocked for a minute.

“Yes, Your Majesty,” the man said, and then he left.

And I was left with the King.

This man was stressing me the fuck out. My emotions were all over the place; I was turned on and going crazy.

Fuck.

“Your Majes-”

“It’s Damon, ma.” he sounded like a baby. Like I wanted to scold him, and if that’s what he was feeling, he was damn right.

“What was all that? What the fuck is happening, Your Majesty-”
