For the past week, I had barely left Aunt Laura’s side. After the surgery, I’ve been nervous about whether it went well or not. Plus, there’s someone I’ve been avoiding. Yeah, you can guess who it is.
Damon.
After the mind–blowing orgasm he gave me the other day, and after ending it with talking about contracts, I’ve felt weird, so I’ve been staying away. Giving excuses of wanting to make sure Aunt Laura is okay. Even though I know she’s okay now.
One thing that annoyed me was the Lockwood family’s visits. They showed up again today, just as they did in the last few days. They stayed for exactly five minutes, and my father didn’t even sit down to ask how she was doing. He stood by the door, checking his watch every thirty seconds as if being here was risky to his health.
I hated that he was my father so bad.
He would come and then tell Aunt Laura about a stupid board meeting, telling her that the shareholders have been asking about her since she’s been radio silent fir about three weeks. The last time they came here, I made sure to shout at him about it. I told him he was heartless, and he almost slapped me. I dared him to.
After all, he wouldn’t want to slap Damon Black’s Queen and then face the wrath of the Lycan King.
It was such a fun moment for him because I watched the moment he realized that he was signing up for his own death warrant if he did hit me.
After their usual five–minute visit, I heard the door shut behind them. The silence in the room felt heavy with negativity. That’s how the atmosphere used to feel anytime they came around. Laura looked at the door for a long time before she turned to me. She
looked like she had just realized that my father was a monster.
“Eloise,” she said softly but with a slight rasp
“Im here, Auntie,” I said, rushing to her side and taking her hand.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” she asked, and I was a bit confused at what she meant. “Why didn’t you tell me that my brother was treating you like that? You know you can always meet me and tell me anything, or was there ever a time when I made you feel otherwise? I thought everything was okay the last time I came here and threw you a party when you were found after all those years of being kidnapped. They looked happy, you looked happy. What went wrong?” she asked. She looked hurt by the whole situation, and I didn’t like that because it wasn’t her fault.
“Auntie, please do not blame yourself. These things happen, and that party that you threw for me was the last time we were all happy and smiley. Like a week after that, they didn’t have my time. You know, they had a new daughter who always needed their attention. Even my brothers turned their backs on me. And I got used to it, Auntie. Plus, I didn’t want you to worry; you were not in the country, and my own issues weren’t supposed to disturb you. But it’s all good now, and I would have hated myself if I kept bugging you only to realize that you were sick later on. I’m okay, though, you’re here now. And they can’t treat me like that anymore. I’m the Queen of the whole werewolves now, what more could I ask for?” I explained to her.
“Yeah, clock it,” she said, and I laughed. “Well, I’m here to stay now. I’ve decided that I’m not going anywhere after the whole situation. My house is still here, I’ll make some calls on how my things will be shipped down, so you don’t have to worry about that,” she said, and I looked shocked.
“For real? Are you going to be staying here? What about work and family?”

“Dont worry about that, I’ll find my way around it. Plus, I won’t feel okay if I know that you don’t have any family to rely on here. Staying here will make me feel better about a whole lot of things, and I want to see my brother try to take your shares away from you now that I’m back,” she said and raised her hand to kiss her knuckles.
“Thank you, Auntie. I’m so happy that I have you. Plus, you’re going to take a lot of weeks off because you need it. Now that you’re staying here, I can look after you the way I want.” I said, and she smiled.
“Yes, you can.”
Over the next few days, I continued avoiding Damon and stayed with my Auntie. We finally moved to her house, and I’ve been sleeping there, going to the palace to pick up a few pieces of clothing, then coming back here because I liked seeing Aunt Laura myself. To make sure she’s at least okay. I’ve been making sure to get his herbs, though. I would leave them in his room, and i always drop a piece of my clothing in there so he can sleep properly, along with my shower gel and everything else that smells like
After all, that was part of the contract.
Anyway, I have a little surprise for Aunt Laura today, and I hope she likes it.
“Your lunch is here,” I told her as I carried her favourite tea and bacon to meet her. She was sitting on the house’s balcony, and I smiled. It was a perfect place for her to see her surprise.
“Thank you, baby.”
A few minutes later, a car pulled up into the yard, and I was already smiling.
“Why does that car look familiar? Are you expecting someone?” she asked as she took a sip of her tea.
