I let out a violent sneeze that almost made me drop my coffee. I rubbed my nose and looked around the empty living room, narrowing my eyes.

“Who’s gossiping about me? Who’s plotting something behind me?” I asked myself. In our world, a sneeze like that wasn’t just allergies; it was a sign. Someone somewhere in the pack or anywhere in the territory was chewing over my name. Given that I had just finished the Luna Trials show, it could have been anyone.

From a bitter rival to a crazed fan.

Just then, my phone buzzed on the table. It was a message from my friend, Lex.

“Eloise, oh my goodness. You won’t believe this. I managed to get us two Lunar seals to Xavier Lenor’s Moon Convergence this weekend! You’ve been too busy with wedding plans that you barely have time for me or anybody around you. We are going! Don’t you dare say no! And that’s on period!”

I laughed at the frequent use of her exclamation mark by her.

Who knew the quiet Lex from the Luna trials would be a menace?

She didn’t lie, though; the wedding arrangements had been so draining. I’ve been trying to juggle everything together. Although Damonn tried to be with me but meetings for the pack and almsig the whole werewolf realm were pulling him away.

I’ve been attending flower, food, and interior fittings, but I haven’t done my dress yet. And all of them were expensive. I tried as much as possible not to say anything about the price they mentioned.

Apparently, since Damom contacted the best of the best, he had already given all of them his black card with instructions that whatever I wanted should be the top priority.

I stared at the screen. Maybe this would be good.

And it was a ticket to Xavier Lenor’s moon convergence.

The Xavier Lenor.

The man wasn’t just a singer; he was a lunar songbearer. They said he was a voice that didn’t just hit the notes; it hit the soul, too.

He performed sacred chants that could literally stop a wolf from losing their mind during a tough transformation. He was the most famous man across all territories. And his performances were rare, guarded and insanely expensive.

Those Lunar seals must have cost Lex a year’s salary. I’ll tell Damon so he can issue a refund.

I thought about it fir a second, I didn’t really have any plans, and honestly, the stress of the wedding was starting to get to me. Maybe some moon music was exactly what I needed to make this work.

“Sure, let’s do it.” I shot her a text back.

The weekend arrived, and Lex was buzzing with so much energy to power the entire pack and maybe the whole realm. We decided to meet up early at the Silver Mall to grab some food and outfits before the event.

Since the Luna trials, I’ve become careful about going outside because there was always a fan somewhere who wanted my autograph or someone who tried to approach me to tell me how badass I was, and that was very tiring. I needed a break, so l decided to cover myself up. Yeah, you guessed right. I’m dressed in a disguise today.

I arrived at the mall earlier than Lex. To stay under the radar, I wore a large face mask, oversized sunglasses, and a hoodie. I was browsing through a store, admiring some moonstone jewellery, when the aura around me suddenly changed.

A scent suddenly hit me, and it wasn’t like the disgusting scents of someone being sick. This was one like nature, like rain. It felt so

fresh.

Before I could even turn around, a tall man in a dark hoodie and sunglasses walked straight toward me, and he didn’t stop. He grabbed my wrist with a tight grip.

“Dont make a sound. Come with me,” he whispered.

His voice was low, vibrating right through my skin.

I panicked. I tried to yank my arm back, but it was too strong. He didn’t look like a kidnapper, but he was definitely acting like one. He dragged me toward a nearby emergency exit, ducking inside before I could even scream for help.

“Who are you? Let go of me!” I hissed the moment the door clicked shut. I kept my voice low; the last thing I needed was a headline that wrote how I was in a compromising position with another man who wasn’t the King.

The man sighed and slowly removed his glasses.

My breath hitched. Wow.

It was Xavier Lenor.

“You’re Xavier?” I asked just to be sure.

My anger dissolves into shock.

He nodded shortly, his jaw tight. “I need your help. Sorry, it’s an emergency.”

1 blinked, coming back to my senses. “You need my help with what? Why did you kidnap me into a stairwell?”

“Some reporters and crazy fans are following me,” he said, glancing at the door. “I came here because I wanted some moment of peace before the convergence. I need a cover, please.”

i frowned and tugged my wrist free now that I noticed that his grip had lessened. “We don’t even know each other, go find a fan.”

“I know who you are, Eloise.” Xavier interrupted, his blue eyes locked into mine. “I watched the Luna trials. And I know you’re our Queen. I know you won’t sell this to the press, help, and I’ll owe you.”

I stared at him, my jaw almost hanging open.

“You watched the Luna trials?”

“Every episode.”
