It helped me get through some of the hardest months of my life. The kindness you showed me back then is something I’ll never forget. Now that your family’s in trouble, how could I possibly turn my back on you?

“I’ve already bought back the Sitwell Residence. Once you’re home, you can move right in. The Linsky Group will be returned as well, and from now on, your path forward will be smooth. If anything like this ever happens again, call me. If I’m not around, reach out to Frankie. Anyone under Jeff Enterprises will go all–out to help you.”

Linden was drowning in guilt, while Monica didn’t know how to face him anymore. To her, Leander now felt like more than just family–there was respect in her eyes, even a trace of awe.

But for me? They’re nothing. So don’t ever pull something that foolish again.”

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving her standing alone in the breeze. She stood still for a long while. Then, slowly, her lips curved into a warm, radiant smile. “He was worried about me, wasn’t he?”

Nine months had passed since Leander vanished. Now, out of the blue, he had resurfaced in Listin. The news barely made a ripple, like a single drop falling into the ocean–but it still spread. And plenty of people heard.

Far away, atop a skyscraper in Scelor, a blond man in a sharp suit stared at the message on his screen. His fingers tapped rhythmically on the desk, and his eyes gleamed with a cold, dangerous light. “Jeff, you’ve finally shown yourself. We’ve been looking for you for a long time.”
