Autumn’s statements baffled Madeline. Autumn had already told her to avoid Leander as much as possible. Madeline was confused, though, as it appeared that Autumn’s attitude had entirely

altered.

“A friend like Leander is doomed to have no future, Miss Little. He’s just an ignorant fool who doesn’t know how the real world works. What is there to be sorry for?” Ginny’s lips were pursed. “And as of right now, Madeline has a contract with Glorious Entertainment. She will become a well–known celebrity in the future. Leander is a nobody, so why should she care?”

Autumn merely shook her head without explaining. She had thought about the same thing only hours before, but Leander had won her over last night.

She sighed inwardly, shook her head, and cast a sidelong glance at the resolute Madeline. “It’s the greatest mistake of your life to reject Mr. Ashcroft, who holds power over a state!”

Yvette’s eyes flashed a little as she looked in the direction where Leander had left. She had the sudden feeling that he would never return. She bolted out of the hallway, a premonition in her heart, but he was nowhere to be located in the enormous Water World.

The Ravenridge group visited Water World over the weekend. What shocked them, though, was that Howard, the older and more capable son, was the one entertaining them instead of Zayn.

Each person’s Amorous Room was upgraded to the top–level water villa that only VIP guests worth billions could stay in, and they experienced a service that was several times more opulent than previously.

Everyone was secretly ecstatic, believing that Autumn and Colin were the reasons. However, it was only Autumn’s knowledge that Howard’s kindness toward them stemmed from Leander.

Everyone hurried back to school from Ascendia on Monday morning. When Madeline got to class, she could not help but notice that Leander’s seat was empty in the back row. He was absent. Though it seemed a little odd, she looked away.

Leander had not shown up in the classroom after two lessons. It took Madeline a while to recognize that something was off.

Is he not coming to class anymore? Though she was concerned, he never appeared.

Yvette was leaning on her hand in Class Six, mindlessly staring out the window. These days, she was a little preoccupied, occasionally thinking about Leander, whether she was having fun in Ascendia or going back to school.

“Yvette, are you here to see him?” Madeline sounded dejected, as evidenced by her subdued voice.

“No!” When Yvette heard Madeline’s query, she shook her head immediately. “I’m here to see you. Tonight, for dinner, come to my house! Bring Leander along, by the way. Where is he?” Her expression was natural, as though speaking of him was incidental.

“He didn’t come to the class.” Madeline had a sad, almost listless voice. She had not felt anything out of the ordinary since the day she and Leander had a falling out at Water World. However, she felt as though a piece of her heart was missing after being apart from him for a few days.

It appeared as though the man who would console her in times of distress and encourage her to follow her aspirations through his songs was progressively fading from her life.

“Is that so? Then, put him out of your mind!” Although Yvette gave off the impression that she did not care at all, she was shocked. If he did not show up for school, she wondered where he would go.

Leander was supposed to have simply missed school that day, but Madeline and Yvette did not see him for several days. Not even the school’s most infatuated girls could track down Leander. Leander never showed up again, not at the modest rented place or school,

Yvette called him multiple times, but all she got was an unreachable tone, as if he had vanished from the school and was never to be seen again. She was troubled for a few days in a row, spending her time by herself in bed and daydreaming.

“Leander, where have you gone?” She put a gentle hand to her chest, as though it held the warmth of Leander’s back from that night when he carried her.

He departed Water World that day and rushed to Tardide Valley overnight. Many passing Escain inhabitants noticed this weird visitor and became highly inquisitive as soon as he entered the valley.

He ignored everyone and headed directly to the modest house that Frankie had previously rented for him at a premium rate. It was also at this residence that he would plant Silverleaf.

The house featured a separate courtyard, but it was not overly large. He cleaned the home and went about carefully tilling the ground in the courtyard.

He was about to finish when he heard faint footsteps coming from outside the courtyard. Wearing matching traditional robes, four young women walked side by side. The leading woman, who appeared to be in her twenties, was particularly beautiful and ethereal, and the other three followed her example.

Lifting her lovely eyes, she cast a sidelong glance at Leander, tilling the field. She spoke firmly and loudly, hands on her hips. “Who are you? Are you unaware that visitors to Tardide Valley are required to report to The Demise?”
