Ian Winters glanced at Jasper Shaw.
The man had broad shoulders and a narrow waist. The faint outline of an eight-pack was visible beneath his dress shirt. His features were sharp and well-defined, and his dark, deep, icy eyes gave him a wild, untamable air.
And this man, standing at six-foot-three, was already a nationally renowned tycoon at the young age of twenty-eight—the very man every financial journal was vying to interview.
Ian Winters didn’t hesitate for a second, quickly shaking his head.
"You’re young and accomplished. How could you possibly be old?"
Twenty-eight is a man’s prime. Besides, there were flocks of young women outside the company who dreamed of marrying Jasper Shaw.
"Chairman Shaw, you’ve been named the nation’s most eligible bachelor for six years running."
Ian Winters pushed up his glasses and said earnestly, "So, you should have the utmost confidence."
’Though he personally believed Jasper Shaw would never get a girlfriend in his entire life.’
’But for the sake of his job, he had to say all the right things.’
’It was a basic requirement for any competent assistant.’
Jasper Shaw looked up, giving Ian Winters a long look before waving his hand. His tone finally softened a little. "Sign me up for an account right now."
He paused, then continued, "I want every app the kids are using."
’Whatever the kids have, he has to have too!’
Ian Winters: "..."
’If it weren’t for the high pay, he probably would have thrown in the towel and quit right then and there.’
In the end, however, he bowed his head to the evils of capitalism, flashing his standard, professional smile as he left.
As Chairman Shaw’s sole assistant, Ian Winters was highly efficient. In no time, he had sent the account details for the most popular social media apps to Jasper Shaw.
The moment Jasper Shaw got the account information, he logged in on his phone. After fumbling with it for a while, he finally sent a message.
However, three minutes passed, and that young lady from the Sinclair Family still hadn’t added him as a friend!
And so, during the regular executive meeting, the department heads discovered that the Chairman was in a particularly foul mood.
"How could you miss such a massive pitfall in this contract? What the hell is the legal department paid for?"
"I..."
Just as Ian Winters was bracing himself for a pay cut, a familiar ringtone suddenly echoed through the conference room.
He looked over and saw the screen of Jasper Shaw’s phone light up on the conference table.
All eyes in the room turned to the phone.
Jasper Shaw glanced back and saw it was a friend request notification. The light instantly returned to his eyes. Without even looking up, he said, "Meeting adjourned."
With that, he left in a hurry.
The executives in the conference room were utterly bewildered. Several of them crowded around Assistant Winters. "Did something urgent come up for Chairman Shaw? He left in such a rush."
"I’m not sure," Ian Winters said sheepishly.
"I snuck a peek at Chairman Shaw’s screen. I can’t believe he actually uses WeChat."
"Don’t tell me he has a girlfriend, does he?"
