From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius novel Chapter 41

Chapter 41: Chapter 41: What Does Nina Sinclair Starving to Death Have to Do With Me?

Jasper Shaw hurried back to his office, his heart pounding with excitement as he stared at the friend request on his phone.

President Shaw, a man who wouldn’t bat an eye at a multi-billion-dollar deal, was now so flustered by a simple friend request that he couldn’t think straight.

He quickly accepted, but when he saw the empty chat screen, he froze.

After hesitating for a good while, he swiped a sticker his grandfather often used from the family’s "We Are Family" group chat.

He remembered Jayden Dalton once saying that all the young people liked to send stickers.

Meanwhile, Chloe Sinclair, who was looking at her phone, burst out laughing.

The sticker must have been stolen from his grandfather; it showed two animated "Hello"s bouncing up and down on the wide-open chat screen.

Chloe Sinclair typed back, teasing him, [Mr. Shaw, you’re 28, right?]

Jasper Shaw was baffled. After a brief pause, he replied in all seriousness, [I won’t be 28 for another three months.]

Pfft!

Chloe Sinclair broke into a charming smile, her dimples deepening as she shook her head.

’How come I never realized in my past life that Jasper Shaw was so sensitive about his age?’

[What’s wrong?]

When Chloe Sinclair didn’t reply for a while, Jasper Shaw couldn’t help but ask.

Of course, Chloe Sinclair wasn’t about to tell Jasper Shaw the real reason, so she simply replied, [It’s nothing.]

Jasper Shaw was a bit puzzled, but he didn’t press the matter.

[Your calligraphy is beautiful. My grandfather’s birthday is next month. Could I commission a piece from you?]

[Sure.]

As soon as Chloe Sinclair agreed, Jasper Shaw transferred 500,000 to her without a second thought.

Chloe Sinclair was stunned.

Five hundred thousand was an astronomical price for a piece of calligraphy from a beginner.

Even after all Nina Sinclair’s years of study, the most expensive piece she had ever sold went for only five thousand.

Just as Chloe Sinclair was lost in thought, a hoarse, grating voice suddenly sounded from behind her.

She knew who it was just from the voice and couldn’t be bothered to turn around.

"Mrs. Logan, what is it?"

"The master and the young master aren’t coming home tonight. Since it’s just you, I was wondering what you’d like to eat."

"That’s alright. I’ll order takeout later."

Mrs. Logan paused, her tone growing anxious. "Food from outside is so unhealthy. I should just cook for you."

Only then did Chloe Sinclair glance back. Her voice was cool and crisp, completely devoid of inflection. "I said, that won’t be necessary."

After saying her piece, she gave Mrs. Logan a quick, dismissive look and walked away without turning back.

But Mrs. Logan, unwilling to give up, hurried after Chloe. "But Nina... she still hasn’t eaten. I’m worried about her."

"And what does Nina Sinclair not eating have to do with me?"
