Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Disgraced and Ruined

At the mention of Chloe Sinclair, Nina Sinclair frowned.

"Fine, come in."

Nina Sinclair glanced at Mrs. Logan’s sweaty face. The perspiration trickled into the deep creases of her wrinkles, and a pang of discomfort shot through Nina.

However, Mrs. Logan was moved that Nina Sinclair wasn’t angry with her. She hastily agreed and entered the villa.

But one look at the villa’s interior and her heart ached with pity.

"Nina, why is this villa so empty? Your father is clearly playing favorites."

She ran a hand along the staircase, only for it to come away coated in a layer of dust. The pained look on her face intensified.

Without another word, she went to the kitchen, found some towels, and started cleaning.

Seeing this, Nina Sinclair’s brow finally relaxed a little.

She remembered the task she’d given her and couldn’t resist asking, "Did you do what I asked you to do?"

Mrs. Logan froze. A blank look crossed her face before she seemed to understand. A flicker of guilt appeared in her eyes, but she still lied through her teeth. "I told Chloe, but she wouldn’t listen. She said a lot of terrible things about you. Just now, she even said it was none of her business if you starved to death and forbade me from coming to see you."

Nina Sinclair didn’t doubt her for a second. Her heart filled with rage, but she couldn’t show it in front of Mrs. Logan. Instead, she put on a tearful expression. "Chloe isn’t like that. Could there have been some kind of misunderstanding?"

"Nina, Chloe is just jealous of you. When your father and older brother get back, I’ll put in a good word for you. Just look at this place! Is this villa even fit for a person to live in?"

As she spoke, her disdain for the villa deepened.

In reality, things were not as Mrs. Logan described. Although the villa in the West End was remote, it was also incredibly expensive, worth tens of millions and fully furnished.

It had just been vacant for a long time, leaving it covered in dust.

But Nina Sinclair had been there for quite some time. If she had tidied up even a little, it wouldn’t have looked so filthy and chaotic.

But Mrs. Logan placed all the blame on Chloe Sinclair and the villa itself.

So, she cleaned tirelessly, muttering curses as she worked.

A hearty laugh came from the other end of the line.

He then did a quick background check on Chloe Sinclair. Seeing that she was just a high school student, he relaxed.

’In his opinion, she was just a high school kid. How hard could it be to dig up some dirt on her? It’d be a piece of cake.’

At this, a smile finally touched Nina Sinclair’s lips.

"I’ll contact you again when the time is right."

"Alright."

Dealing with such a major client, the account operator was, of course, exceedingly patient, maintaining a pleasant and accommodating tone with Nina Sinclair.

After the call ended, Nina Sinclair ejected the SIM card from her phone and threw it in the trash.

"Chloe Sinclair, this time, I will utterly ruin you!"
