Mrs. Logan froze. When she came to, her face was filled with reproach. "How could you!"
Chloe was left speechless. She just turned and went upstairs.
Back in her room, she pulled out her test papers and started working.
Even though she had placed first on the last exam, she couldn’t afford to underestimate her competition. The score gap between her and the person in second place was only fifteen points.
Every teacher had assigned a mountain of homework for the May Day holiday, giving even Chloe a bit of a headache.
"Sigh... when will this ever end?"
Chloe sighed, rubbing her aching wrist.
’Being a student is the absolute worst part of life,’ she thought. ’That hasn’t changed, even after being reborn.’
By the time Chloe finished all her homework, it was already ten o’clock at night.
If her stomach hadn’t started to ache with hunger, she might have forgotten she hadn’t eaten dinner.
So she ordered takeout. When she went downstairs to get it, she found that Mrs. Logan was gone.
Chloe wasn’t surprised.
Mrs. Logan was childless and had worked for the Sinclair Family for over twenty years, so she naturally doted on Nina Sinclair as if she were her own daughter.
Combined with Nina’s subtle manipulations, it was no wonder Mrs. Logan was led around by the nose.
But Chloe remembered that things hadn’t ended well for Mrs. Logan. In just a few years, she would die from an illness.
When she passed, it seemed there was no one by her side to care for her; she died all alone.
Yet Chloe felt not a shred of pity. In her view, it was the retribution Mrs. Logan deserved.
Chloe finished her meal in the living room and went back upstairs to study.
In just a few days, she had already pushed her Physics learning progress bar to forty percent.
But after hitting the forty-percent mark, her progress slowed, and the material grew more complex.
"Eight, what do you think the world of the future will be like?" Chloe couldn’t help but ask.
Eight fell silent for a moment. "What would you like the world to become?"
’I’ll have to develop a system like this myself one day.’
"But first, I’ll need a lab."
After briefly indulging in her future plans, Chloe went to bed and fell asleep almost instantly.

「The West End Villa」
Nina Sinclair never imagined that a place in a villa district could be so remote. There wasn’t even a 24-hour convenience store nearby, and she had been starving for an entire day.
She had told Mrs. Logan to bring her some food, but three whole hours had passed, and the housekeeper still hadn’t arrived.
Just as her anger was about to boil over, the doorbell finally rang.
She didn’t even have to guess who it was. With a grim, stony expression, she swung open the door and demanded, "What took you so long?"
"I... I didn’t mean to be. Chloe Sinclair wouldn’t let me come. I had to sneak out to get here."
