Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Bar

VIP Trading Room!

Lounge Area!

"Young Master Su, I never expected you to be so bold!" Si Cong said, his expression complicated as he watched Su Chen calmly sipping his tea.

"Boldness? It’s nothing, I’m just playing around," Su Chen said, looking completely unconcerned.

After finishing the tea in his cup, Su Chen checked the time. It was already three in the afternoon.

He beckoned to Pei Rang, who was sitting not far away, completely engrossed in the computer screen in front of him.

"Boss, is there something you need?" Pei Rang hurried over.

"I’m leaving everything here under your full control. I only want to see the results."

Pei Rang stood ramrod straight. "Don’t worry, Boss. I absolutely will not disappoint you!"

Su Chen gave a slight nod, shot a look at Si Cong, then got up and walked out.

Si Cong was stunned for a moment before snapping out of it and hurrying after him.

’I thought we’d be stuck here for a while,’ he thought. ’I was even wondering how I’d pass the time... I can’t believe Su Chen is just leaving.’

’That’s a two-billion-dollar short position! How can he just leave it in the hands of a subordinate?’

’If it were me, I’d probably be eating, sleeping, and shitting in this VIP trading room for the entire duration.’

’Sigh... what can you do? He’s just that rich. If I had Su Chen’s kind of capital, I’d definitely be more human than him!’ The thought of the shares under Su Chen’s name made Si Cong grind his teeth with envy...

Take Kaiyun Group for example. It was the world’s third-largest luxury goods group, with a current market capitalization of around 70 billion euros. Su Chen’s ten percent stake alone gave him a net worth of 7 billion euros.

With that net worth alone, he could crush the vast majority of tycoons in the country...

But what he didn’t know was that, apart from the one hundred million in the stock market, Su Chen currently had less than two million to his name...

Night fell, and the city lights began to sparkle.

Another side of Xiangjiang was now revealed before Su Chen’s eyes.

Lying on the living room sofa, he could clearly see the neon lights of the skyscrapers on the opposite shore through the floor-to-ceiling windows, each one a testament to Xiangjiang’s prosperity.

"Come on, let’s go out! If you come to Xiangjiang and don’t experience the nightlife, it’s like you were never here at all!"

Su Chen was just getting lost in the beautiful night view when the aesthetic mood was shattered by Si Cong’s booming voice.

’As for Xiangjiang... Su Chen had been dreaming of this place for a long time!’

Although he had never been to Xiangjiang before, he knew quite a lot about it. He might not be able to recite the eighteen districts of Xiangjiang by heart, but he could name most of them.

This was all thanks to the "Young and Dangerous" movies he watched in his youth. Back then, he used to fantasize about being a triad boss from the films, with a beautiful woman on each arm and a gang of followers at his back, dominating the underworld.

An idea stirred in Su Chen’s mind. "Should we go check out Lan Kwai Fong?"

He was more than a little curious about that famously colorful place.

"Sure, I happen to know a pretty good bar in Lan Kwai Fong!"

The two of them didn’t waste any time. They changed their clothes and headed out.

Lan Kwai Fong was located in Central, just across the harbor from the Peninsula Hotel where Su Chen and Si Cong were staying.

"It really lives up to its reputation!" The moment he stepped out of the car, Su Chen felt the vibrant energy of Lan Kwai Fong.

All kinds of beautiful women flitted between the various shops in Lan Kwai Fong.

Su Chen was about to refuse when Si Cong pulled him to his feet. "Come on, let’s go check it out!"

Half-pushed, half-persuaded, Su Chen found himself down in the club on the floor below.

The moment he entered, a wave of pulsing music hit him, and Su Chen’s body slowly started to move with the rhythm.

Gradually, Su Chen noticed something was off. He saw numerous beautiful women swaying to the music, only to sway right over to Si Cong’s side.

He glanced at Si Cong, who was surrounded by a circle of beauties, then at the rejects near him. His desire to keep dancing instantly vanished. He muttered a few words in frustration and headed back upstairs.

’Fuck, I never should have come to the bar with him. I’m just here to make him look good!’

He made a decision then and there: he would never go to a bar with Si Cong again.

"Huh?" Su Chen’s brow furrowed instantly as he saw three young men sitting in his booth.

Instead of confronting them directly, Su Chen stopped a waiter who was about to pass by. "Excuse me, why are there people I don’t know sitting at my booth?"

"Huh?" The waiter was completely baffled at first, but when he saw the men sitting at the booth Su Chen pointed to, his expression changed slightly.

"Sir, how about... I get you a different booth?" the waiter asked, a little apprehensively.

Su Chen frowned. It seemed these young men had some kind of background.

’In the past, Su Chen might have just swallowed his pride and let something like this go. But now... what the hell was there to be afraid of?’

"You, come with me," Su Chen said, then strode toward his booth.

The waiter’s face fell. He quickly spoke into his walkie-talkie, "Manager, get to the sky bar, fast! We’ve got a major situation!"

After speaking, the waiter jogged to catch up with Su Chen, his eyes filled with worry.
