"Young Master Chen, the selection tonight is top-notch! See that beauty over there in the office attire? Gold-rimmed glasses, curvy in all the right places... Tsk tsk, I just want to pin her down on this booth and have my way with her!"
"Fuck, Yang Fan, can you not be so disgusting? On the booth? Why not just drag her to the bathroom..."
"*Ahem ahem*... Well, that’s not out of the question! The three of us could even do it together..."
"Hehe~ I like that..." the skinny guy chimed in with a smirk.
"Fuck off..."
Listening to their conversation, Su Chen’s brow furrowed even deeper.
He walked up to the booth and knocked on the table. "This is my booth. I’m going to have to ask the three of you to move."
The three men, interrupted mid-conversation, all turned to glare at Su Chen with hostile expressions.
The leader, Young Master Chen, sized Su Chen up in the dim light. Seeing nothing remarkable about him, he leaned back in his chair with his arms crossed.
Seeing this, Yang Fan and the skinny guy took their cue. When they heard Su Chen’s standard Mandarin accent, their lips curled and a flash of contempt appeared in their eyes.
"Hey, mainland punk. You say this booth is yours? Why don’t you call its name and see if it answers you?" Yang Fan said sarcastically.
"You should take a good look at yourself. Is Xiangjiang a place for your kind? You should just crawl back to the mainland!"
Hearing this, Su Chen’s expression instantly darkened. He had heard that many people in Xiangjiang looked down on mainlanders, but he never thought he’d run into it himself today.
’Some luck I’m having!’
Just as he was about to grab a bottle to teach the two a lesson, he heard two WHOOSHES fly past him.
SMASH!
SMASH!
Two wine bottles smashed directly onto the heads of Yang Fan and the skinny guy.
"AHH—" Blood gushed from the heads of Yang Fan and the skinny guy. They collapsed to the ground, clutching their heads and groaning in pain.
"You motherfucker, Chen Feiyang! If you can’t control your damn dogs, don’t bring them out here to embarrass yourself!" an angry voice roared from behind Su Chen.
Su Chen turned to see Sicong striding over, his face contorted with rage.
"Young Master Su, are you okay?" Sicong was secretly terrified. He was the one who had invited Su Chen out tonight. If anything happened... he couldn’t even imagine the consequences.
"I’m fine. What are you doing up here? Weren’t you dancing downstairs?"
Hearing Su Chen say he was fine, Sicong breathed a sigh of relief.
"I noticed you were gone, so I came up to have a drink with you. Didn’t expect to hear a couple of dogs barking up here!" After speaking, he turned his gaze to Chen Feiyang at the booth and the two men still collapsed on the floor.
"Wang... Wang Sicong!" The lighting at the rooftop bar was dim, and only now did Chen Feiyang recognize the newcomer’s face.
Chen Feiyang scrambled to his feet, looking at him nervously.
Sicong raised his hand, causing Chen Feiyang to flinch back in fear, but the slap never landed.
"Call your brother. Tell him you’ve pissed off someone you can’t afford to offend, and tell him to get over here and apologize in person!"
Hearing this, Chen Feiyang felt like his world was collapsing. He’d just come out for a few drinks and to hit on some girls. How had he gotten into such deep trouble?
Seeing Sicong’s icy expression, Chen Feiyang tremblingly pulled his phone out of his pocket.
He walked to the side to make the call.
"You know him?" Su Chen asked, a little puzzled.
"Yeah. He’s from the Chen family of Xiangjiang. Their family is also in commercial real estate, and their malls specialize in luxury goods. Their business is pretty widespread. The Chen family is a big name in Xiangjiang."
"I get along pretty well with his older brother, Chen Feiyu. I’ve met this punk a few times!"
Su Chen nodded slightly. He knew that the circles of the wealthy second-generation were actually very small. People in the major cliques of Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong pretty much all knew each other.
However, Sicong’s earlier introduction seemed to carry an underlying meaning.
"Break it up, break it up! Stop crowding around!" A man in a suit, leading several security guards, pushed his way through the crowd.
When he saw the two men on the ground, his expression turned grim. But the moment he turned and saw Sicong, his face instantly broke into a smile.
"I don’t dare drink this on Young Master Su’s behalf. You should be apologizing to Young Master Su," Sicong said, jutting his chin in Su Chen’s direction.
Chen Feiyu’s heart skipped a beat. He quickly turned to look at Su Chen and saw a pair of bright eyes scrutinizing him...
Yes, scrutinizing!
Chen Feiyu was very familiar with that kind of gaze. He encountered it every time he accompanied his father on visits to his friends.
"Mr.... Mr. Su!" He had intended to say Young Master Su, but for some reason, "Mr. Su" came out instead.
Su Chen nodded slightly and said in a slow, deliberate tone, "Since you’re a friend of Sicong’s, drink that glass in your hand... and we’ll let this matter drop."
Chen Feiyu tilted his head back and drained the glass in one go.
"Mr. Su, I will host a banquet at the Peninsula Hotel tomorrow to formally apologize. I hope you will grace me with your presence."
Su Chen didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he glanced at Sicong, who was more familiar with these social protocols.
Seeing Sicong give a slight nod, Su Chen finally spoke. "Fine. Contact Sicong to make the arrangements."
After all that had happened, Su Chen had lost all interest in continuing the night. He shot Sicong a meaningful look.
The two of them then stood up to leave.
As Su Chen passed by Yang Fan and the skinny guy, he paused.
He crouched down and, with a smile, looked at the two of them. "Looks like this ’mainland punk’ came out on top today, huh?"
With that, a sharp SLAP echoed as he struck Yang Fan across the face, sending his head crashing into a nearby table.
It made a loud BANG.
Everyone gasped, their eyes fixed on Su Chen... His face was now as cold as ice.
"My apologies for the scene, everyone." At some point, a faint smile had returned to Su Chen’s face.
Watching the departing figures of Su Chen and Sicong, Chen Feiyu remained stunned, unable to process what had just happened.
