Fury Unleashed: The Awakening Alpha Nira (by Chloe Ramos) novel Chapter 151

Chapter 151 Hunted in the Woods.

Nira’s POV

I was just about to give myself over to Lyra completely when I felt that warm, burning heat in foy start to fade away.

It was the wolf spirit going into hibernation.

Lyra..Lyra?

No reply.

I knew right then it was already too late. Lyra had slipped into hibernation.

There was nothing I could do. I just gritted my teeth and ran as fast as my legs could carry me.

My strength was almost gone, but I forced myself to stay alert. My mind raced, mapping every possible

escape route.

Suddenly, my foot slipped. I tumbled straight down into a deep pit. The bottom was covered in dry twigs and fallen leaves. The fall sent sharp pain all over my body, but I didn’t dare make a single sound.

I quickly curled up tight at the bottom of the pit, holding my breath and listening closely for any movement outside.

Where the hell did that chick vanish to?a hitman’s rough voice echoed from above.

Quit wasting time and split up! She can’t have gotten far!another gruff man snapped, sounding annoyed.

My heart thundered so hard it felt like it would burst out of my chest. I squeezed my hand tight around the ring with hidden daggers, ready to fight for my life if I had to.

But the men in black never noticed the pit. Their footsteps slowly faded away.

I let out a quiet breath of relief. Still, I knew I couldn’t stay here long without Lyra’s protection.

I grabbed the vines and climbed out of the pit fast. I kept running deeper into the woods, staying hidden behind the trees.

I hadn’t gotten very far when a low, heavy hum rumbled above me.

I looked up. Several drones circled the sky. Men in tactical gear stood at the drone doors. They were half- shifted into wolves, their fiery red wolf eyes glowing as red laser beams scanned the ground everywhere.

Redeyed wolvesthey were the best trackers in the pack.

No matter how well any wolf hid, those red eyes could find them every single time.

My heart sank. Every nerve in my body went tight. I darted behind a big tree and held my breath, trying to hide my body heat and scent.

But it didn’t take long. The red beam locked right onto

She’s there!a snarl boomed in the distance.

Heavy footsteps rushed toward me fast.

I gritted my teeth and tightened thy grip on the ring.

I knew I was surrounded. My only chance was to fight.

my spot.

Come out right now, you bitch! You’re not getting away!the rough voice shouted from the woods.

I didn’t answer. I quickly glanced around, studying the terrain.

I knew these woods like the back of my hand. I figured there was a steep slope not far ahead, leading down into thick, dense forest. I could use the terrain to outrun them.

I burst out from behind the tree and sprinted straight for the slope.

The hitmen chased right after me. Their footsteps and shouts echoed through the trees.

Catch her! Don’t let her escape!the lead man roared.

I weaved through the trees as fast as I could.

There were way too many of them. Two men quickly closed in from the sides.

I pressed flat against a thick tree trunk, hidden. My hidden dagger was ready. I waited, watching their every

move.

Footsteps drew closer and closer.

I peeked through the cracks in the tree. My heart stayed calm, fingers tight around the dagger. I waited for the perfect moment to strike.

The second the hitman walked past the tree, I darted out like a ghost. The dagger from my ring stabbed straight into the soft spot on his neck.

He didn’t even get a chance to shift into a wolf. He let out a muffled grunt and fell limp to the ground.

I quickly dragged him into the bushes, quiet and fast.

The second hitman soon came into view.

He noticed his missing partner, ears pricked, claws bared, ready to attack.

I sent my pet snake Ivory slithering down the tree. It bit his neck hard.

The venom hit instantly. He screamed and fell to the ground.

Shouts erupted nearby. The other hitmen rushed over.
