Chapter 186 A Champion Horse
Nira’s POV:
I stared at Kade, caught off guard. “You bought me a horse?”
Kade gave a slight nod, his tone gentle. “Yeah, it was delivered yesterday.”

He lifted a hand toward the stable, and one of the attendants immediately led over a tall, powerfully built black stallion,
Its coat gleamed like polished onyx, legs long and sturdy, with an alert, intelligent gleamin its eyes. Even the air around him feit charged–full of raw energy. Lyra’s voice echoed softly in my mind, confirming what I already sensed. This is no ordinary horse. He’s elite–bred, top–tier.
My voice came out almost breathless. “He’s stunning.”
Kade’s lips curved into a faint, proud smile. “After watching you ride last time, I knew you could handle a horse like this.”
I stepped closer and ran my fingers gently through the stallion’s thick mane. He lowered his head and nudged my palm softly, as if approving.
Smiling back at Kade, I said, “Thank you. I really mean it.”
He watched me with that satisfied, almost fond look in his eyes. “I’m glad you like him.”
“Whoa, Mr. Howell–is that the famous Hayes?” Zane circled the stallion, his voice dripping with exaggerated envy. “That champion purebred you spent a fortune importing from Meridia? The one that swept all the major equestrian awards?”
My eyes widened as I glanced from Zane back to Kade. “This horse… he’s that valuable?”
Kade shot Zane a brief cut–it–out look before turning back to me, casual. “He’s won a few trophies, so he’s got a bit of an ego. But had a feeling you’d be a match for him.”
Before I could even think to protest, he placed the reins firmly in my hands. “Go on. Take him for a ride.”
“Alright.” No point in hesitating now. In one fluid motion, I swung up into the saddle.
A gentle tug on the reins, a light squeeze of my calves, and Hayes surged forward into a swift, smooth gallop.

Third–Person POV:
Almost the moment Nira took off, Kade was already mounting his own horse and giving chase.
Zane watched Hayes moving across the field, muttering under his breath, “That animal’s worth millions. Mr. Howell clearly treats Nira different.”
Beside him, Briar chuckled and clapped a hand on Zane’s shoulder. “You might wanna keep comments like that to yourself. Unless you’re looking for trouble.”
Zane pulled a face, his tone tinged with real bitterness. “Can’t help feeling jealous. I’ve fought alongside Mr. Howell as a top–ranked beta for years–never even got to touch that horse. And here’s Nira, riding him like it’s nothing.

she doesn’t even have a wolf spirit, and she’s already caught Mr. Howell’s attention this much,” he added, shaking his head, “if she did have one, he’d have probably claimed her as his mate already.”
