Nira’s POV:
After returning to Kade’s room, I handed the prescription and a diagram to Jett.

“Do the herbal soak once a day. After that, follow the massage routine shown here. I’ll check back in seven days. If anything comes up, contact me immediately.”
Jett accepted the papers with sincere gratitude. “Thank you, Miss Soren.”
I gave a small nod, packed up my medical tools, and looked toward Kade. “If there’s nothing else today. I’ll head out.”
“All right,” Kade replied with a small nod.
Jett personally escorted me back.
On the way, I received a call from an unknown number. Glancing at the screen, I answered, “Hello?”
As soon as I heard what the caller said, my expression didn’t change, but I lifted my eyes and glanced at Jett’s back in the driver’s seat before hanging up.
We didn’t exchange a single word for the rest of the ride.
The car slowly pulled into the main road leading to the Soren estate, home of the Blazeborn Pack.
Jett stepped out and walked me to the door, saying respectfully, “Miss Soren, I’ll come pick you up in seven days.”
I nodded briefly and turned to enter the house.
The call earlier had been from the warden of the maximum–security prison. He said someone had recently been digging into my records.
It didn’t take much thought to figure out who it was. Kade.
Given the fact that we were now working together, it made perfect sense. Someone like him wouldn’t trust anyone without doing his own background check.
I had barely begun to think through how I was going to handle this when Lyra suddenly growled from within, alert and ready for battle.

I snapped my head up just in time to see Nolan heading straight toward me, dragging at massive long–haired black wolf at his side. The wolf’s energy was fierce and hostile.
Lyra picked up the scent instantly. She told me this wolf was a trained assassin–level warrior.
And in full wolf form like this, he wasn’t hiding his intent at all–he was here to kill. My fists clenched, my gaze turned ice cold.
Janice rushed out to block Nolan, pretending to stop him. “Nolan, let’s not do this. Nira doesn’t even have a wolf. She’ll be terrified!”
“And what if she accidentally falls into the pool again?” she added. “She can’t swim, remember?”
Nolan’s eyes lit up with twisted excitement. “Then she drinks a little water. Big deal, she won’t die.”
