“Howard Academy is the top school in the entire Veralle pack alliance,” he said loudly. “It’s the dream school for every alpha heir and noble–born kid across all packs.
“They don’t do legacy admissions, and they don’t care who your family is. No recommendation letters from powerful houses, no shortcuts.
“Every year, people from all over line up for their admissions process thinking they’ve got a shot, but the bar is insanely high. The evaluations are brutal, so strict that even plenty of alpha heirs walk away rejected.
“And Miss Soren doesn’t even have a wolf,” he added bluntly. “How could she possibly get in? Besides, this year’s admissions cycle is already over.”
I glanced at him, about to respond, when Kade’s calm voice sounded above me.
“You really think she wouldn’t make it?” he asked.
I smiled but didn’t answer.
Zane swirled the wine in his glass, sounding unconcerned. “Well, sure, it’s hard for most people. But if you spoke up, they might open a special evaluation slot for her.”
“A special slot?” I asked, genuinely interested.
Kade explained patiently, “Even after the main admissions period ends, Howard Academy still reserves a few special evaluation tracks every year.
“People who’ve won major combat tournaments, contributed to groundbreaking research, or possess rare abilities like healing energy can be reviewed outside the standard cycle.”
“Even then,” Briar cut in, shooting Zane a look, “it’s not a free pass. You still have to pass a full evaluation. Howard doesn’t lower its standards for anyone.”
Zane scratched his head, frowning. “So what, you’re saying Kade shouldn’t pressure them to bend the rules?”
“There’s no need,” Kade said with certainty. He looked at me steadily. “What you should be thinking about is what you want to study.”

I actually stopped and thought. Medicine?

Lyra naturally carried healing energy, and my adoptive father wasn’t just the alpha of Silvermoon Pack, he was also one of the most respected doctors in the alliance. I had trained under him since childhood, and very few could match my medical skill.
In the end, I shook my head.
“Architecture,” I said. “Once I’m done, I want to rebuild Silvermoon Pack properly.”
Kade nodded. “That’s a solid choice. Howard’s architecture program is one of the strongest. Top professors, advanced facilities.”
I smiled. “If you think it works, then that’s it.”
“Hold on,” Zane said, staring at us in disbelief. “That’s it? You’ve already decided?
“What about the evaluation slot? You honestly believe Miss Soren can qualify without a wolf?”
Kade and I exchanged a glance and ignored him.
Even without revealing my status as Silvermoon Pack’s alpha heir, the fact that my blood itself carried healing properties was more than enough to qualify me for special evaluation.
Janice’s POV:
My carefully planned performance had been completely overshadowed by that bitch Nira. I had been so furious I wanted to shift and tear her apart.
After the banquet ended, I locked myself in my room and refused to come out. It was humiliating beyond words. Losing to someone like her, someone not even on the level of an Omega, was unbearable.
Aven and Nolan tried to comfort me, but nothing worked until Mom promised she would handle everything that happened that night.
She always knew how to fix things.
Under her direction, clips and praise of my piano performance spread rapidly across the entire alliance. Every pack was talking about it. As for Nira’s violin performance, the guests who attended the banquet seemed to reach a silent agreement. No one mentioned it at all.
From that point on, my reputation as a piano prodigy was firmly established.
At every gathering, I basked in admiration and envy, and it felt incredible.
