Chapter 273 The Nineteenth Floor Lockdown
Chapter 273 The Nineteenth Floor Lockdown
Nira’s POV:
As soon as I got off the elevator, I called Noah and brought him up to speed.
I could hear papers being flipped through on his end of the line.
“What’s your read on it?” he asked.
“I think Janice’s identity as the healer was probably part of someone else’s setup.”
I glanced down at the test results spread across the workstation.

“If she really understood this toxin, there’s no way she’d still be here, or anywhere near the surrounding packs for that matter. Which means there’s a very good chance she’s been used just like everyone else.”
I lowered my voice.
“Once this virus becomes active, it’ll spread like wildfire. Rank won’t matter. Strength won’t matter. Every werewolf is facing the same level of risk. My recommendation is to keep all of these patients quarantined on the nineteenth floor and continue treatment under complete lockdown. Anyone involved in their care, including doctors and nurses, needs to remain isolated as well.”
After a brief pause, I continued.
“As far as the public is concerned, we stick with the memory–loss treatment story. Let the media focus on that. And Noah… I don’t trust Janice. I think there’s a real possibility she’s still connected to other toxins we haven’t discovered yet.”
“I already have people watching her twenty–four–seven,” Noah replied, his voice turning cold. “You focus on saving lives. If you need resources, you’ll get them.”
“Okay.”
The moment the call ended, Zach ordered an immediate lockdown of the nineteenth floor.
The announcement sent a wave of panic through the medical staff.
Fortunately, everyone assigned to the floor had gone through extensive emergency–response

training. Once they understood the consequences of an outbreak, they forced themselves to stay focused and threw themselves into the treatment plan.
The patients were another story.
The second word of the lockdown spread, emotions started boiling over.
Military units arrived at the hospital within minutes.
Soldiers in combat gear secured every major access point on the floor. Checkpoints appeared throughout the hallways. The elevators were placed under armed guard, and nobody was allowed to enter or leave without authorization.
At first, the patients were simply nervous.
Then they saw the soldiers.
Fear exploded.
“What the hell is going on?”
A young man stared at the armed personnel with panic written all over his face.
“Why are they locking us in here?”
His fear spread through the crowd instantly.
“We want out! You can’t do this! This is illegal!”
Voices rose one after another.
Then a young patient completely lost control.
His eyes flashed red as he charged toward the security line, trying to force his way past the soldiers.
The soldiers immediately formed a defensive barrier.
In the middle of the chaos, one of the physicians rushed forward.
“Everybody, calm down. This is being done to protect-

The wolf’s jaws locked around his neck.
The physician stumbled backward and crashed hard onto the floor.
Everything fell apart. People screamed.
Others shouted.

Wolf howls echoed through the hallways. Some patients curled up against the walls, sobbing uncontrollably.
Others pounded on doors, desperate to escape.
Several surrounded the medical staff, demanding answers nobody was ready to give.
Within moments, the entire floor had descended into chaos.
Nira’s POV:
The second I heard what was happening, I ran straight there.
The atmosphere was so volatile that Lyra immediately went into a defensive state inside me.
Holding a stack of blood test reports against my chest, I pushed through the crowd and stopped in the middle of the hallway.
“Everyone, listen to me!”
I shouted as loudly as I could.
Nobody heard me.
The noise swallowed my voice whole.
I took a deep breath and yelled again until my throat burned.
“I HAVE YOUR TEST RESULTS!”
That finally worked.
The hallway gradually quieted. Every eye shifted toward the reports in my hands.
A knot formed in my stomach as I opened them.
“This isn’t easy to hear,” I said, forcing myself to stay calm. “But you deserve the truth. There’s a
