Nira’s POV:

Tasha shook her head, tears filling her eyes. “After Natalie and her husband went missing, we never heard anything else. Edmund had people search the whole territory where the accident happened, but there was no trace…”

My heart sank even deeper, and the worry inside me grew.

By the time we reached the final healing session, everyone in the Hudson family had gathered in Gordon’s room.

Steadying my hands, I gently inserted the last needle into the pressure point on Gordon’s body.

“All done,” I said softly, pulling the needles out before letting out a slow breath. I piped the light sweat from my forehead with the back of my hand.

Kade was right there, handing me a warm cloth to clean up.

Gordon’s eyelids fluttered a few times before he slowly opened his eyes.

At first his gaze was vacant, drifting aimlessly, but then it settled on my face.

“Natalie…” He lifted a weak hand, his voice so rough it was barely a whisper. “You… you came back…**

Edmund moved closer and took his father’s hand. “Dad, this is Nira. She’s the one who healed you and Desmond.”

It took Gordon a moment to fully come around, but his eyes never left me. “She looks so much like… just like Natalie when she was

young.”

“How are you feeling now, Dad?” Edmund asked gently.

Gordon gestured for help sitting up. Once propped against the pillows, he replied, “Much better. Now, tell me what’s been happening all this time.”

Edmund gave a clear, brief summary–Richard’s plot, the Glen Group’s schemes, and how I had stepped in to save them.

When he finished, Gordon looked at me with glistening eyes, full of gratitude.

“Ms. Soren, you’ve saved two lives in this family,” Gordon said, emotion thickening his voice. “Name anything you want. If it’s within our power, the Hudsons will make it happen.”

I didn’t quite know how to respond, but Kade stepped in smoothly, his arm coming around my shoulders. “Actually, we came to Meridia for another reason.”

The room grew quiet and still.

“Twenty–two years ago,” Kade began, his tone steady and serious, “did Natalie give birth to a daughter?”

Gordon’s expression shifted, but he regained his composure quickly.

He looked straight at me, understanding dawning in his eyes, and nodded. “Yes, she did.”

“That child was later abandoned near the dangerous borderlands of the pack. She only survived because a kind stranger found her.

“And Nira is that switched child–she isn’t really a Soren by blood.”

“Are you saying Ms. Soren is my sister’s daughter?” Edmund stared at me, stunned.

“That’s not possible,” Gordon stated firmly, raising a hand. “Ms. Soren cannot be Natalie’s child.

“There was an incident when Natalie gave birth–the baby was taken, but we got her back soon after.”

His voice grew heavy but certain. “After that infant passed, we ran three separate DNA tests to be sure. We even used blood–scent recognition through our wolf spirits. Every result confirmed she was Hudson blood.”

“Besides,” Gordon added, “the Hudson line carries the purest of ancient werewolf heritage. Our scent is distinctive. Ms. Soren here… doesn’t carry it.

“So Nira cannot be Natalie’s daughter.”
