I kept my head down as I organized the needle case. My hands stilled briefly before I finished packing up. “Maybe the Moon Goddess guided me to help the Hudson family,” I said calmly. “Maybe that’s why our paths crossed.”

Kade shifted the focus at just the right time. “Right now, Glen Group is the immediate threat.”

I accepted it with a quiet thanks.

I took slow sips of soup and listened.
