Chapter 371 The Forbidden Covenant
Nira’s POV:
I stood up quickly. “Any word from my foster father?”

Cullen was Alexander’s beta. Whenever I couldn’t reach Alexander directly, Cullen would relay my messages back to the Silvermoon Pack through our secure channels.
“Yes.” He nodded, his expression serious. “The Alpha received your message and responded immediately. But the situation is…. delicate. That’s why I came in person.”
I felt a knot tighten in my stomach. “What did he say?”
“He believes that if this really is the kind of influence a Lycan half–blood can wield, it’s far more dangerous than we assumed.” Cullen lowered his voice, his gaze steady but grim. “This isn’t ordinary mind control. It’s a forbidden craft–banned over three centuries ago.”
Kade stepped closer. “What makes it different?”
Cullen took a slow breath before answering. “It doesn’t just influence thoughts–it rewrites emotional memory. It can make someone despise the person they once loved, completely and irrevocably, while binding them to the caster with obsessive devotion. And to work… it requires something called a Heartbind Chime/
Kade was quiet for a moment, then reached for a notepad and pen. “Dina wears a pair of unusual bracelets,” he said, sketching from memory.
His recall was impressive–he’d only glimpsed the intricate patterns once, yet he reproduced them in detail. He handed the drawing to Cullen.
Cullen studied the symbols, his frown deepening. “These markings are unusual, I’ll give you that. But only the Alpha can confirm whether this is truly a Heartbind Chime.”
I shook my head, still confused. “Cullen, it’s one forbidden spell. Why is Alexander so concerned that he’d send you personally?
“That’s exactly why I’m here,” Cullen said, his tone turning grave. “This goes back three hundred years. The Alpha’s ancestors led warriors to wipe out an invasion of Lycan half–bloods. After the conflict, they declared that entire chapter forbidden–sealed all records of something called the Covenant of Seven Passions.”
He met my eyes. “The forbidden text you encountered, Nia… it was part of that legacy.”
“The Covenant of Seven Passions?” The name alone felt heavy, ominous.

“Yes,” Cullen said quietly. “It’s built on seven extreme emotions, each tied to a different form of manipulation. What you’ve described–the empathy spell–is actually the mildest of them.”
I stiffened. “The mildest? Then what are the others?”
“The spell of joy can make someone laugh until their heart gives out. The rage spell can ignite full–scale riots…” Cullen’s voice dropped almost to a whisper. “And the worst of them–the obsession spell–traps a person in a loop of fixation until their wolf spirit breaks free from their body. They don’t just die… they unravel.”
Just then, lightning flashed outside the window, followed by the sudden roar of
pouring rain.
