Fury Unleashed: The Awakening Alpha Nira (by Chloe Ramos) novel Chapter 5

The moment those words came out, the entire Soren family froze, their smiles stiff on their faces.

Jenna's eyes widened in disbelief. "What did you say? The clothes are for Nira?"

Aven stepped forward too, his expression darkening, voice laced with anger, "Miss Boyd, you must have the wrong person. Our family's high-ranking, pure-blooded wolf descendent is Janice. Nira? She's nothing more than a useless ex-con without a wolf."

Vera didn't respond to him directly. She turned toward Damon with a calm, unchanging smile, "Alpha, may I ask where Miss Soren's room is?"

Damon's face darkened. Without a word, he signaled Reese to take her upstairs.

"Thank you." Vera nodded with composed politeness, then led her team up the stairs without hesitation.

Damon watched their backs as they left, clearly lost in thought.

"Dad..." Aven started, wanting to say something, but Damon raised his hand to silence him.

"No need. I know what I'm doing."

Janice stood frozen in place, her face drained of color. The corner of her mouth, once curled in a perfect smile, was now pulled tight. Her fists were clenched so hard her nails nearly pierced her palms. She felt nothing but resentment and humiliation.

Aven leaned in, gently coaxing her, "Janice, don't let it get to you. We don't need anything from Emberhall. I'll buy you something even better. More expensive. Whatever you want."

"Okay." Janice forced a small smile, but her eyes still burned with fury. This wasn't just about the clothes. Everyone in the alliance knew what custom designs from Emberhall represented—status, power, recognition.

Wearing one meant you belonged to the top elite among werewolves. So how in the world did someone like Nira get her hands on it?

What did she do? Who did she sell herself to?

Janice clenched her fists even tighter, her eyes fixed on the second floor.

Reese led Vera up to the second floor and stopped outside Nira's room. He reached for the door, but Vera stepped ahead and gently stopped him.

She stood at the doorway with poise and knocked three times.

"Miss Soren, I'm Vera Boyd, director of Emberhall Atelier. May I come in?"

Reese scoffed under his breath. Such respect, for someone the whole family treated like a disgrace? A girl without even a wolf?

Ridiculous.
