He glanced at the screen, saw Tessa’s name, and answered anyway.

“What happened?” he asked, his voice low and direct.

Tessa didn’t hold anything back. She rushed through the entire situation, barely pausing for breath as she explained what had blown up online and what was happening on campus.

“That’s everything. I can’t reach her, no one knows where she is,” she said, her voice starting to shake. “Kade, you need to get here now. If this keeps going, they’re going to tear her apart. She doesn’t even have a wolf spirit, she won’t stand a chance!”

“I understand,” he said.

His tone was steady, controlled, giving nothing away.

Then the call ended, and he immediately turned to his people, already issuing orders.

Back on campus, everything had reached a boiling point. “Nira’s live!”
